Decent effort in the context of this race when beaten less than 9L into fourth here over 1m7½f last time (soft) and appeared to lack pace then, so this step up in trip could bring about some improvement.

Maiden point-to-point winner (good) in October and understandably did better when stepped up in trip from a 2m1f bumper to 2m3f on his hurdling debut at Fontwell last time. Should be getting the hang of things now and can make an impact here.

Well beaten on both starts to date. Has a huge claim of his pilot to lighten the load today, though we need to see signs of life before wagering and he is likely to show more when handicapping.

Shown nothing so far in a bumper and two maiden hurdles, including over similar trips to this. Nice enough pedigree and may show something in time, though perhaps not this time.

Not a lot of form shown so far in a couple of bumpers and a novices' hurdle and now hooded and tongue tied for the first time and switched to this grade in the quest for success. More interesting if market speaks for him.

Stepped up on his Aintree debut with a promising showing in a Southwell bumper last time. Tackles hurdles for the first time today and given who he represents it is hard to believe that he won't at least be competitive in this weak contest.

Won a bumper on debut last April and now rated 118 after being placed in all three starts on novices' hurdles. May not be of the quality of many handled by the champion trainer, but this looks a good opportunity to get off the mark over timber.
