Winner in better grade here last November. Has a fair record in this class (two wins and three places from 11 starts). One to note now back to optimum trip and a track where she always goes well.
Losing run stretches back 17 races to September 2015. Hard to fancy over this trip and having shown signs of temperament at the start recently.
Still a maiden after 16 starts and yet to reach a place at this track. Best recent run came over this distance at Lingfield. Dropped in the weights now after three disappointing efforts over further and top rider booked. The cheekpieces have been tried before and he was pulled after racing too keenly.
Ex-Godolphin five-year-old who has been raised 11lb for his hat-trick attempt. Both wins have been gained at short prices in impressive style under today's rider. Capable handler appears to have found the untapped potential his pedigree suggests was there.
Two of his three career wins have come here in this grade. Both were gained over longer trips and off lower marks.
Front runner who is without a win since 2015. Has won over C&D previously and has reached the frame here on another seven occasions. Has had one run back from a break and a drop in the weights gives him a chance to produce another prominent display.
Raced off higher marks than this in Ireland and dropped a further 3lb following a run down the field over an inadequate trip last time. Winner over hurdles at Wetherby in January and one to note from a yard not afraid to have a tilt in the ring.
C&D winner in October but has only beaten one horse home in two starts since. Has a tendency to miss the break but jockey booking takes the eye (1-4 for the yard).
Third behind two subsequent winners last time. Only 2lb higher in the weights here and has an excellent chance to open his account.
Stable still trying to find the right distance for this lightly raced filly. Has shown clear signs of possessing some ability. Half-sister was a sprinter and recent efforts have suggested she may want a less demanding test than this.
Forecasts
Moayadd (11/8), Fantasy Gladiator (7/1), Jersey Bull (7/1), Estibdaad (15/2), The Detainee (15/2), Goodby Inheritence (12/1), Solveig's Song (14/1), Munsarim (20/1), Golden Muscade (33/1), Tsundoku (100/1)
THE DETAINEE chased home Smiley Bagel when last seen and that horse has gone on to complete a hat-trick since. The runner-up also went on to score next time and that may be good enough to land this. Moayadd is difficult to ignore based on his latest exploits. The handicapper has set him a stiff task but he rates the obvious danger to the selection. Tsundoku is interesting now racing over a more adequate trip. Her form in Ireland suggests she could be well handicapped and the market will be a guide to her prospects.
- The Detainee
- Moayadd
- Tsundoku
