Back to form when winning over 7f at this course back in December but has found life a little tough after reassessment. He won this off a 7lb lower mark last year, so has a stiff test ahead in his bid for back-to-back wins.

On a long losing run but the handicapper has been very slow to cut him some slack. He still needs a little more assistance and may be best watched despite holding a fair record at this particular course.

Londonh12
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-6| J: A Kirby| T: P S McEntee| OR:  79
16/1
A nicely-bred individual but has never lived up to the potential of his pedigree. Still high in the weighs from his time with Aidan O'Brien and may be best watched until he starts to show some of his early sparkle. Also off-putting that his yard has a poor current strike rate.

Age: 5|  Weight: 9-5| J: Alistair Rawlinson(3)| T: M Appleby| OR:  78

Recent performances have been a tad below expectations and he may simply have been found out by a rise in the weights after a quick-fire double in poor races at this course last March. First-time hood goes on and has a tricky draw to negotiate.

Among Angelsb7
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-5| J: D Swift| T: D M Loughnane| OR:  78

Stepped up to 7f with the minimum of fuss last time out and has a bit more scope now he tackles a mile for the first time in public. His pedigree suggests the trip shouldn't be an issue and notable that he is set to race from just a 3lb higher mark. Needs to prove it wasn't just a flash-in-the-pan though.

Zoravanv40
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-4| J: P Makin| T: K Dalgleish| OR:  77

Won a C&D maiden in good style on his penultimate start but was a disappointing favourite under a penalty last time out. Early days to be writing him off but he has a little to prove this time around.

Age: 8|  Weight: 9-2| J: F Norton| T: Tom Dascombe| OR:  75

Renews rivalries with Alpha Tauri and Zoravan after posting a solid effort last time out. The handicapper has given him a chance on these terms and, given his proven liking for this course, he has to make the shortlist again this time around.

Shearian33
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-0| J: Phil Dennis(5)| T: D Carroll| OR:  73
8/1
Transformed since joining his current yard - culminating with a bloodless success to land his three-timer over C&D last time out. He now needs to post a career best effort to extend the run but looks likely to give another good account of himself despite the handicapper's best efforts.

Shah Of Armaan18
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-0| J: T Eaves| T: K A Ryan| OR:  73

Unexposed and is versatile regarding his ground preference. Drawn well and also gets on well with today's pilot, so has plenty going for him as he makes his debut on the fibresand. A leading contender if he copes with the surface.

Aqua Ardensp,t33
Age: 9|  Weight: 8-13| J: P Cosgrave| T: George Baker| OR:  72

Back to form over 7f last time out and will be a threat if he turns up in the same frame of mind this time around. He doesn't always impress with his attitude, though. And is on a long losing run.

Boots And Spursv6
Age: 8|  Weight: 8-12| J: L Morris| T: S Dixon| OR:  71

Held by both Alpha Tauri and Aqua Ardens recently, so comes here with something to prove. Has claims on the best of his form but recent evidence suggest he'll find at least a couple of the others will have his measure and draw looks tough.

Age: 6|  Weight: 8-7| J: S De Sousa| T: M Appleby| OR:  66

Goes well at this track but still looks a little high in the weights for him to be considered a live danger at this level. Has a bit to find with Shearian and needs everything to go his way if he is going to reverse the form.

Forecasts

Playtothewhistle (11/2), Showboating (7/1), Zoravan (15/2), Shah Of Armaan (15/2), Shearian (8/1), Captain Revelation (17/2), Aqua Ardens (10/1), Alpha Tauri (10/1), Red Touch (12/1), Among Angels (12/1), Anton Chigurh (14/1), London (16/1), Vivat Rex (20/1), Boots And Spurs (22/1)

Verdict

Several hold decent claims, but the in-form SHEARIAN is really on a roll for his new yard and, judging by the ease of his latest win, he will take some pegging back. Shah Of Armaan appeals for a place in the fame at the likely odds, while Alpha Tauri seems to raise his game at this course and would be dangerous to leave out of the equation.
  1. Shearian
  2. Shah Of Armaan
  3. Alpha Tauri
