Yet to get in the frame in five starts over hurdles and has looked a hard ride on a few occasions including when hooded. Hood left off last time out when he ran probably his best race shaping better than the distance he was beaten by. The tongue-tie goes in for the first-time here and it remains to be seen if he can back up his last run.
Three-time winner on the Flat when with Tim Easterby but yet to win over hurdles and ran poorly last time out when tried over 2m3f. Would have a chance on his penultimate run when third at Leicester over 2m and a return to that sort of form would see him go close in this grade.
Showed a little more last time out when making her handicap debut in today's headgear combination. Raced very keenly on that occasion and will do better if settling down more to see the trip out properly.
Formerly a decent handicap hurdler but has rather regressed of late and despite the falling handicap mark is looking difficult to win with.
Yet to win in handicap company but was well backed on her penultimate start when second at Fakenham when with Michael Wigham. Left that yard after a moderate Flat run last time out and makes her debut for her new yard on her return to hurdling.
Handicap hurdle winner off a lowly mark at Exeter in October and has shown only modest form since.
Formerly a useful sort but returns from a long absence and when last seen his attitude was starting to become a problem and doesn't look one to trust.
Yet to win over hurdles and was very much below any sort of form last time and the tongue-tie goes on for the first time in a bid to find some improvement.
Point-to-point winner last year in October and quite well fancied when returning in a handicap hurdle at Plumpton in January off a lowly mark (9lb out of the handicap). Made the running there but weakened quickly and has to run from well out of the handicap again.
Forecasts
Peppay Le Pugh (4/1), Thundering Home (5/1), League Of His Own (5/1), Skylark Lady (7/1), Lady Longshot (8/1), Karl Marx (8/1), Chivers (8/1), Norphin (12/1), Whipcrackaway (14/1)
On his old form Thundering Home is well-handicapped but he’s only showed glimpses of that old form of late. Lady Longshot needs to settle better to be seen to best effect while Skylark Lady could be given a chance on her Fakenham runner-up effort. In the end CHIVERS earned the vote dropping back to a bare 2m which looked to suit him on his penultimate start where he could have gone even closer if ridden a little more patiently.
1. Chivers
2. Skylark Lady
3. Lady Longshot
