Gone 15 career outings without success but finished a close third over three miles at Doncaster last month. Races off a 5lb higher mark here on his third start for this stable.
Failed to complete on her last three outings including when unseating her rider here last time out. Yard have a 26% (18/68) strike rate here and interesting to see how she fares.
Sole success came when odds-on for a flat handicap in February 2016 but drop in trip seemed to suit when finishing runner-up at Wetherby on his third handicap hurdle outing last time out. Yard are going well at present (6/23) and interesting to see if he can repeat that effort.
Had won two of his last three outings prior to pulling up at Bangor two months ago. Has been absent since and both of those wins came over 3m1f so interesting to see how he copes with this drop back in distance.
Showed promise in three outings in Irish bumpers last Summer but disappointing in four outings for this yard. Makes his handicap debut in this.
Had finished well beaten on two of her three completions over hurdles prior to making a promising handicap debut when fourth over this C&D last time out. Same conditional jockey on board here and has been dropped 3lb by the handicapper.
Well beaten in all three hurdles outings so far including at Fontwell last time out, more needed in this handicap debut.
Unseated rider when wearing first time tongue tie and cheekpieces (the latter left off here) at Bangor on handicap debut. Yard have a 19% strike rate (4/21) in recent weeks and an interesting contender.
Well beaten in all starts under rules today including at Wincanton in December. Makes her handicap debut here for a yard with a poor strike rate at this track (1/45).
Won off an 8lb higher mark at Wincanton last May but well beaten in the main since and pulled up last time out at Fontwell. Needs to bounce back to form here.
Poor efforts twice since returning to action this season including when pulled up in first time cheekpieces at Towcester last time out. Won under this jockey in October but had just eight outings since.
Shown little in eight outings to date including in handicaps over hurdles the last twice. Interesting to see whether the likely better ground helps (beaten when falling on it only previous start). Worth a check in the market.
Placed in three of his last four outings including over three miles here on his penultimate outing. Only fourth here last time out but in decent form and interesting to see if he can register a second career success off a 3lb higher mark here.
Well beaten in three hurdles outings to date and limited signs of ability in five point-to-point outings prior to that. Makes his handicap debut here.
Winner over 3m1.5f in a chase at Cartmel last July but well beaten on two subsequent runs over fences. Makes his first start since August here and his first run over hurdles since pulling up at Southwell in July. Worth a look in the market off the same mark as for his Cartmel success.
Winner off a 7lb higher mark over fences at Wincanton in May 2015 but disappointing of late including when a well beaten fifth over this C&D last time out. Likely that more is needed in this.
Winner at Exeter over 2m1f back in October but well beaten in two hurdles and a chase since including back at the same venue last time out. This trip more suitable and interesting to see how he gets on in this.
Forecasts
Master Burbidge (7/2), Tactical Manoeuvre (6/1), Lake Shore Drive (13/2), Distant Sound (13/2), Flow With Eve (12/1), Drive On Locky (12/1), Karl Marx (14/1), Definite Ridge (14/1), Without Frontier (14/1), Thundering Home (16/1), Anythingmayhappen (16/1), All But Grey (20/1), Big Diamond (20/1), New Vennture (20/1), Just When (25/1), Gilly Grace (40/1), Laoch Beag (50/1)
MASTER BURBIDGE can follow up his solid second placed effort at Wetherby last month by going one better in this. The selection represents a yard who's horses are running well at present and he remains open to improvement over hurdles and as such can get the better of Definite Ridge who runs off the same mark that saw him successful at Cartmel over fences last year and is wearing cheekpieces for the first time while the top weight Lake Shore Drive can claim third.
1. Master Burbidge
2. Definite Ridge
3. Lake Shore Drive
