Five time winner on the AW including twice over C&D. That can't be forgotten, but his recent form is of concern, as is the fact he is top weight today.
Steps up to a mile for the first time since her debut after finishing 10th in a tougher assignment than this back in November. Should still be improving and could show herself to be well handicapped.
The type to go well fresh and was in very good form prior to finishing ninth at Sandown in September, when she may not have seen out the trip.
C&D winner in a maiden here a year ago but has not been running well in handicap company. Mark is going down accordingly and wasn't totally disgraced over C&D last month.
Has been running poorly at Southwell recently, but goes better on the Polytrack and shouldn't be totally discounted off a much lower mark than in his heyday.
Has been running well at Wolverhampton recently, switches back to the Polytrack today off a fair mark and looks to be in with a good chance stepping down in trip.
In good form at Southwell recently, including a win last month. Makes his Polytrack debut today, but important to note horses with good form on Fibresand sometimes struggle on other surfaces.
C&D winner who most recently crossed the line in front at Lingfield over two furlongs further in July. Could be better for the return from a break today but hasn't won over this trip since a C&D victory in May 2015.
Won a similar race to this at Lingfield last may but hasn't been as good recently, with the exception of a decent second over 1m2f three starts ago at Windsor. Handicap mark is dropping gradually, however.
Forecasts
Papou Tony (7/2), Gracious George (4/1), Scribner Creek (5/1), Freddy With A Y (6/1), Samphire Coast (6/1), Betsalottie (8/1), Rustique (8/1), Embankment (16/1), Mossy's Lodge (20/1)
It's always difficult to tell how a horse who has been running well on the Fibresand will perform when switched to Polytrack, and if Samphire Coast can make that transition a seamless one he could prove hard to beat. Preference, though, is for SCRIBNER CREEK, who has been running consistently well at Wolverhampton recently and still looks to be on a fair mark. Rustique can also go close if going well after another break.
1. Scribner Creek
2. Samphire Coast
3. Rustique
