Ex-French horse who returned to form when winning a four runner event at Wolverhampton last time out. Had been well beaten on his two previous outings but did win here back in 2015 and while he has his stamina to prove tackling 1m4f for the first time he's likely to go well once more.
Absent for over a year prior to finishing fifth of seven at Leicester on his penultimate outing and well beaten in a valuable handicap at Doncaster subsequently. Useful performer on his day but a bit to prove at present.
Making his first outing on the Flat since 2012 when finishing a well beaten fifth in a Southwell claimer last time out. Was Group 1-placed in Italy in his youth but has been racing over obstacles since winning a Listed handicap hurdle at Market Rasen on his penultimate outing but off for a long time subsequently and will need to improve on that Southwell performance here.
Can boast a solid strike-rate of nearly 50% on the AW and a winner over 1m6f at Wolverhampton in a handicap on his penultimate start. Finished runner-up over half a furlong further than today's trip at Newcastle last month but this drop back to 1m4f shouldn't inconvenience him and he has a C&D victory to his name from 2015.
Ex-French gelding who made a promising debut for this yard when finishing fourth over C&D last month. Has some solid Group race form to his name in France and interesting to see how he fares for a yard better known for their jump horses.
Consistent sort who was a winner over this trip at Wolverhampton three starts back and finished runner-up twice since. Beaten just a nose on his penultimate start by today's rival Watersmeet and makes his first start in a conditions event here.
Forecasts
Watersmeet (2/1), Rock Steady (5/2), Cohesion (3/1), Calling Out (5/1), Dashing Star (14/1), Retrieve (33/1)
WATERSMEET is better known for his exploits over further these days but he was successful over this 1m4f trip in a handicap back in September. The six-year-old has won subsequently and is the only contestant to have led in recent starts. The selection can get the better of the consistent Rock Steady who's finished runner-up the last twice and the ex-French Cohesion can take third on his second start for his current trainer while Calling Out is another likely to go well.
1. Watersmeet
2. Rock Steady
