Four wins over hurdles but recent efforts generally poor. New yard in good form but has something to prove.
Runner-up at Lingfield in December (2m, good to soft) but two poor runs last month. Needs to bounce back.
Wore cheekpieces for the first-time when breaking duck at Taunton in December (2m3f, good). 3m1f trip probably to blame when only fourth at Catterick next time. Today's trip should suit and better expected.
Placed three times but still without a win. Yard in good form but pulled up at Haydock last month and makes no appeal.
Promising fifth at Warwick on second start this season. Not disgraced in midfield at Huntingdon last time and could go well now handicapping over longer trip.
Placed in first two hurdle starts. Again shaped well when fourth at Plumpton last month. Might take another step forward on this handicap debut.
Lost his way after winning four of first five career starts. Only seventh of 13 at Haydock last time. Looks set to struggle again.
Showed promise in two Listed bumpers. Two respectable third places since hurdling. Interesting runner on handicap debut.
Stayed on past beaten horses in four 2m novice hurdles at Plumpton. Likely improver now handciapping over longer trip and shortlisted.
Won twice over fences in France. Has a significant absence to overcome prior to this British debut and looks likely to come on for the run.
Placed at Marker Rasen on Boxing Day (2m, good to soft). Unplaced in two starts since. Improvement required on handicap debut.
Won twice in small fields last year. Third at Newcastle last time (2m4f, soft) and place claims again despite this being a stronger race.
In good form this season, winning at Fontwell (2m3f, good) and placing twice. Each-way claims again.
Tailed off at Wincanton last month and still without a win. Placed on both previous course visits but difficult to see him winnning.
Improved on handicap debut when coming late to grab second place at Uttoxeter in June (2m4f, good). Lack of a recent outing the main concern.
Beaten a long way at Uttoxeter on reappearance and again at Warwick next time. Difficult to make a case for.

This is as cometitive as the huge field suggests. Reilly's Minor failed to stay 3m1f when a beaten favourite at Catterick last time and has to be of interest now dropped back in trip. Lee Side Lady has been running well this season and is another with each-way claims, comments that also apply to Whatthebutlersaw and Bulfin Island. Ermyn's Emerald has caught the eye in novice hurdles but preference is for another handicap newcomer, ONE OF US who operated at a decent level in bumpers.

2. Ermyn's Emerald
