A 3lb rise for his recent Ludlow success (3m, soft) does not look prohibitive for this lightly-raced son of Great Exhibition and with a little more fluency in his jumping he should have a major say in his follow-up bid.
Warwick bumper winner of a year ago (soft) who has thus far failed to sparkle in four attempts over hurdles. Departed so early last time that it is hard to say how first-time blinkers would have affected his performance. They are retained today, though he does have a bit to prove in them.
Arrives here chasing a hat-trick after successes at Fontwell and Plumpton in the last six weeks, both with cut in the ground. Has risen just 7lb for both of those wins and should be in there pitching at the business end.
C&D winner on two occasions (good to soft) in 2014 and 2015, but remains 4lb higher than the latter and although he ran well in defeat last time he might find one or two too good again.
Wide-margin Taunton winner just a few days ago and escapes a penalty for that today. Yard's runners in tremendous form and although this race looks tougher, he must surely go well again.
9lb lower than when scoring here over 2m 4f in March (soft) and showed signs of a revival at Ludlow last time, so not discounted, though will have to step up on recent efforts.
Point to point winner who has shown very little under rules to date and this again looks to be too hot for him.
Forecasts
Bandon Roc (11/10), Just Joelliott (4/1), Kid Kalanisi (9/2), Giveitachance (12/1), Next Lot (16/1), Alberto's Dream (18/1), Shambougg (20/1)
A small enough field but several have claims and preference is for BANDON ROC. Kim Bailey has his string in tip-top shape and so that recent confidence boosting success can provide him with the platform to follow-up. Just Joelliot has to give weight away all around but can make a bold bid to do so, while Kid Kalanisi has been fairly treated and is another for short-lists.
1. Bandon Roc
2. Just Joelliott
3. Kid Kalanisi
