An encouraging third at Lingfield on debut, but took something of a backwards step when only sixth on his second start. That was at Southwell though, and claims if building on his first run now back on the Polytrack.

Not a particularly appealing pedigree by any stretch of the imagination, and they tend to develop over time with this trainer. Not a likely winner.

Short-headed in a maiden last time over a furlong further, something to prove over this shorter distance but there should be lots of improvement to come on only his fourth start.

Hasn't shown much on either racecourse appearance so far, and a large step forward will be needed in order to be challenging for the higher places.

Wasn't disgraced on debut at Lingfield and will likely improve, it seems unlikely she can come on enough to challenge some of these, though.

One of the better pedigrees on offer here but trainer is not known for his newcomers. A market move would be notable however.

Beaten favourite the last twice, but by only a neck and a head on the two occasions. This looks to be the perfect opportunity to finally get off the mark for some top connections.

Related to a number of 7f winners which is a bonus over this specialist trip, but that's just about all this newcomer has going for her. Best watched.

Has shown more on two racecourse appearances than some of the others in this field, but will need to come much for his second run than he did for his first in order to challenge the market leaders.

180,000 gns yearling making his debut today. May need further in time but pedigree is more appealing than most of these newcomers and is worth a check in the market.

Pepita (4/7), Tibibit (7/2), Sandy Shores (7/1), Miss M (12/1), Fun Raiser (16/1), Bishops Cannings (16/1), Namirah (20/1), Andanotherone (33/1), Cherry Leyf (33/1), Secret Sands (33/1), Rocksette (66/1), Our Ruth (150/1)

Verdict

Against a field of unexciting newcomers and some who have run forgettable debuts, this looks to be PEPLTA's to lose. Desperately hard done by not to win maidens on two occasions, surely it will be a case of third time lucky here. The price won't be anything appealing though, so if looking to oppose Tibibit looks the best of the rest; she's another filly who really should have won a similar race by now. Andanotherone should also be considered given the possibility a dislike for the Fibresand could explain her disappointing run at Southwell last time. 1. Pepita 2. Tibibit 3. Andanotherone
