Proved he was still capable despite his advancing years, over C&D three starts back but has failed to back that up since. Should at least be able to attack from the front but others hold stronger claims with regards win purposes.
Gets on well with this rider and his overall record is nine wins from 48 starts but despite scoring over C&D here back in August, there's a suspicion he's better suited to some of the other AW tracks.
Gutsy front-runner who was drawn too wide to be fully effective last time at Kempton. Only 1lb higher than recent respectable Wolverhampton performances and he should enjoy the nature of this track so he looks tough to oppose in his current mood.
Won here in December and followed that up with a good win at Lingfield two starts later in a claimer. However, 9lb higher than for that last win here in a handicap and that appears harsh on the face of it.
Looked lost on first try at Southwell last time but tends to hold his best for back at this track and while his recent wins have come over lower marks, he should be competitive.
Inconsistent performer who's been in particularly poor form recently. No doubt this jockey will help his cause amd he's well-handicapped but hard to fancy in current form.
Last win came over C&D but 4lb higher than that currently and never won off a mark this high. Trainer and jockey have struck up a good relationship of late but he's likely to need this run after half a year off.
Forecasts
Oriental Relation (9/4), Top Boy (3/1), Dynamo Walt (5/1), Monumental Man (5/1), Silvanus (7/1), Sandfrankskipsgo (10/1), Saved My Bacon (20/1)
ORIENTAL RELATION has been in flying form recently and his finishing place last time out doesn't do his effort justice after getting over from a wide draw. He may be able to put them all to the sword over a C&D that ought to suit. Derek Shaw's runners both hold claims but Top Boy narrowly preferred to Dynamo Walt and his Southwell run last time should be discounted when looking at his chance today.
1. Oriental Relation
2. Top Boy
3. Dynamo Walt
