Dual AW scorer on a different surface to this one with both wins coning over 5f. Best recent run came at Wolverhampton when filling the runner-up slot two starts ago but has been very disappointing since. One previous try on this surface over 5f - sire has a poor record at the track.

Fair handicapper and his last three wins have come at this track all over this distance (two in 2016). Decent third over C&D in December in a reasonable claimer but wasn't in the same form last time out when returned to handicap company.

Has been knocking on the door in his last three runs at the course (422) with the form looking useful for the grade. Looked rather unlucky last time out when a tardy start left him with plenty to do and he was forced to make up ground too quickly. Cheekpieces go on for the first time and a bold show expected again here on a surface that looks to suit.

Improved on turf last year (5 time winner) and runs here off a much lower turf mark (15lb difference). Last two runs here have not impressed though despite that lower mark and question marks as to whether this surface really suits.

Yet to win on the AW but last three runs at Southwell have shown that he acts on this surface. Best of those three runs came last time out when a good third over C&D (Treaty Of Rome in second) and with the hood retained he should give another good showing here.

Still a maiden and 0/8 on the AW overall; yet to experience this surface. Last run at Wolverhampton (6f) was respectable but others have better claims.

Dropped 3lb from his last run when he was fourth here over 6f with a couple of today's rivals in front of him. Slightly better off at the weights with that duo and handles this surface but still needs to show a little more to be considered.

Just one win to his name and on a fair losing run at the moment and looks rather out of sorts. Yet to try this surface and more required here.

Back to form last time out when winning a basement level handicap over 6f helped by falling in the weights. Forced a fairly strong pace in that win and deserves credit for being able to hold on but this is a tougher contest and it remains to be seen if he can handle this rise in class under a penalty.

Has plummeted in the weights while his stable have been going through a tough spell and on a potentially attractive mark here. Showed a little more last time out behind his stablemate Wimboldsley and the pull in the weights could bring them closer together.

Poor handicapper although has managed to win four times on the AW (all on this surface over 5-6f). Hopes of a revival pinned on a return to this surface off a basement mark.

Verdict

The Scott Dixon yard have taken this race for the past two years and they field a team of three this time around in a bid to land the prize again. Wimboldsley under his penalty is probably the best of the trio but he steps back up in grade here and may just find this a bit tougher than the basement affair he won last time out. Mustn’t Grumble is hardly a winning machine but is running well of late and looks sure to be in the mix again along with Very First Blade as long as the latter is as effective over 6f. TREATY OF ROME deserves to win a race such as this though and as long as he gets away on terms this time he may be able to record his first win at the track. 1. Treaty Of Rome 2. Mustn't Grumble 3. Wimboldsley
