This looks very open from a number of angles. The stables that sent out the winners of both winners last season are represented here. Mr Scaff comes from a yard that have been doing well with their jumpers recently. Three runs to date have proven little but their winner last year had an equally unattractive profile and the same rider has been secured. A market move for him would be significant. Rod Millman saddles Sir Plato who dictated a muddling pace when scoring last time. This looks more competitive but the yard have been doing well lately and today's jockey has been a positive booking in that period. Golden Guest can win off this mark but it may be prudent to wait for the stable to show signs of form. BROAD APPEAL won what appeared to be a poor Kempton maiden. A subsequent impressive win by the third casts a different light on the form now and it would be no surprise to Jonathan Portman's charge land this too. Kassandra on her handicap debut for an in form yard and Wolverhampton winner Things Happen are others to consider.

- Mr Scaff
