Made all at Chester last summer but hasn't really fired in a handful of outings this season, including when bidding for a repeat win in that Chester contest 2 weeks ago. Tongue strap on 1st time.
Stopped the slide when fourth of 12 in a handicap over 1m at Newcastle on his second outing for this yard in July but failed to build on that when ninth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 24 days ago.
All 4 of his career wins have come at Kempton, most recently in March. Placed twice on turf at Newmarket in May and as good as ever when runner-up at York/Kempton on last 2 outings, though prospect of this becoming a test may not suit one who has speed as a real asset. Tongue tied for first time.
Won at Southwell and Thirsk on return in May and continued to progress in defeat before notching a third win of the season in a 15-runner handicap (15/8) at Thirsk (1m, good) 22 days ago. Back up in grade now but should go well again.
Made a winning start at Beverley last September and built on that when runner up in 7f listed event at Newbury a month later. Low-key return when last of 4 in novice at Leicester in May and never looked like justifying strong market support when mid-field at York on handicap debut 16 days ago.
Isn't the most straightforward but produced an uncharacteristically strong finishing effort with first-time cheekpieces applied to win a Newmarket handicap (good to firm) in June but headgear hasn't had the same effect on either start since and blinkers are called upon to spark a revival.
Yet to win a handicap but placed last 2 starts, finishing runner-up at Sandown on latest outing at the end of July. Can give another good account but others make greater appeal for win purposes.
Landed the odds in a strong 6f Leicester maiden (soft) on final outing last year. Posted his best effort this season when second of 5 in handicap at Nottingham (1¼m, good) 37 days ago, conceding first run. Shortlisted with ground likely to suit.
Ex-Godolphin gelding who got back on track after a couple of underwhelming efforts when fifth of 11 in handicap at Galway (8.6f, soft, 20/1) 38 days ago. Probably needs more again to defy unchanged mark, though.
Recorded back-to-back wins at Beverley (7.5f) in July and improved again when scoring in good style at Newmarket (1m) 22 days ago. Up in grade but merits respect given current trajectory.
Progressive on the whole this season, winning at Newmarket and Hamilton prior to finishing second at Chester in June. Found things in stronger races at York on her last 2 outings and it's hard to see her making a major impact here on that evidence.
Regular slow start put it all together when winning at Newcastle (7f) in November and ran well enough having slipped back to that winning mark when third of 10 in handicap at Kempton (1m, 22/1) 24 days ago. Remains tricky to recommend as a betting proposition, though.

Forecasts
Crown Office (11/10), Military Leader (5/1), Caim (8/1), Jungle Ruler (11/1), Final Night (12/1), Monoceros (14/1), Bearin Up (16/1), Miletus (20/1), The Sweet Escape (20/1), Yanifer (22/1), Metal Merchant (28/1), Kindest Nation (33/1)
CROWN OFFICE decisively beat some good rivals on his only prior outing on soft and he can step forward from an excellent second at Nottingham to get off the mark for the year. The progressive The Sweet Escape and reliable Military Leader also merit strong consideration.
