Shaped well on several occasions prior to deservedly opening his account for the campaign in Sky Bet Dash over C&D 3 starts ago. Backed that up with a fine second in the Stewards' Cup next time and fared best of those drawn high when sixth of 21 over an extended 5f here on Wednesday. Possibilities.

Progressive in 2025 and continued that theme this season, landing Epsom handicap for second successive year in June and added another valuable pot to his CV at the Curragh (6.3f) 2 starts back. Acquitted himself well when seventh behind Evening Saigon in Stewards' Cup since and each-way claims.

Returned to form from out of the blue when taking 22-runner handicap at Doncaster (6f, heavy) in November. Promise initially this spring, posting an excellent fourth in Victoria Cup at Ascot but hasn't fired kept to 7f since and others look stronger returned to sprinting.

Evening Saigonp21
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-8| J: James Doyle| T: H Al Jehani| OR:  100| D
Low-mileage 4-y-o who has some strong form to his name and having been far from disgraced in the Wokingham, he quickly resumed progress when bagging 27-runner Stewards' Cup at Goodwood 3 weeks ago, by a head from Stratusnine. Building up a healthy strike rate and big shout up 4 lb.

Yet another success story for his excellent yard, completing a hat-trick at Newbury (6f) in May and lost little caste in defeat in top-end handicaps since, no extra only late on when sixth behind Evening Saigon in the Stewards' Cup at the start of the month. No reason why he won't give his running.

Proved better than ever when winning a 19-runner handicap at Doncaster in March. Needs to shrug off a lesser effort having been sent off a strong favourite at Epsom (6f, soft) on sole start since in June but overall record suggests he's a likely candidate to bounce back.

Progressive in 2025 winning twice and enhanced her form again this year, landing pair of 7f Chester handicaps (from difficult draws) either side of twice shaping well in defeat. Has often looked worthy of a drop to this trip and that could see her improve again. Very interesting.

Ended 2025 with Group 3 win in the Bengough (6f) at Ascot. Had looked to be coming to the boil in handicaps at Newcastle/Ascot this summer but a brief forward move ultimately came to little when finishing mid-field in the Stewards' Cup 3 weeks ago. Mark has eased a little more ahead of this.

Run some fine races over C&D without getting his head in front and he deservedly back to winning ways from 2 lb lower at Newcastle in January. Exploits have been somewhat mixed following a breathing operation, though, down the field in Sky Bet Dash here last month. Visor goes back on which can help.

Did well upon joining new yard initially, winning back-to-back 5f all-weather handicaps first 2 starts this year. However, unable to scale same heights more recently, application of cheekpieces/return to 5f failing to spark a revival at Ascot 2 weeks ago. Others much more appealing.

Doubled his tally for current yard with clear-cut success at Windsor (6f) in June and far from discredited when eighth in the Stewards' Cup on his penultimate start. Better than bare result when sixth in big-field contest at first-named venue 12 days ago and he's another holding each-way claims.

Capitalised on a reduced mark when scoring easily at Doncaster in June and shaping up well of late, impressing with how he went through the race only to be picked off by a pair from further back when third over 5.5f here on Wednesday. Clearly at the top of his game and respected turned out quickly.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-4| J: Rossa Ryan| T: C G Cox| OR:  96| D
Low-mileage 4-y-o who justified good support when landing small field Goodwood handicap (6f) this time last year. Not at best on first 2 starts this season and whilst he performed much better when ninth in the Stewards' Cup, the forecast easier ground here may not be ideal.

Useful effort when narrowly winning a Longchamp handicap (7f) in late-May. Changed hands for €80,000 and bright start to life on these shores when close sixth in Summer Cup at Thirsk (1m) 3 weeks ago. Has first crack at sprinting now and likely needs to pull out more.

Completed a hat-trick last spring at Chester and ended the season with solid efforts in Ayr Gold Cup/Coral Sprint Trophy. However, yet to get anywhere near that form in trio of top-end handicaps this season and he needs to show more before becoming of interest again. Cheekpieces go on.

4-y-o who proved all the better for his reappearance when successful in first-time cheekpieces at Carlisle (5.8f) in May. Appeared to find the competition a little too hot in Wokingham/Stewards' Cup in 2 starts since but the assessor is slowly relinquishing his grip, at least.

Successful at Beverley (5f) in April and having performed well on each of his last 2 visits to the Knavesmire this year, he produced a career-best display when scoring over the extended 5f here on Wednesday, well served by a strong pace to aim at. Can go well again under a penalty from a handy draw.

Continued on the upgrade last season, winning twice from 5 starts and signed off with a fine second in the Ayr Gold Cup. However, seen only twice this season, again shaping as if in need of the run when well held at Doncaster in June. Cheekpieces go back on following another breathing operation.

Progressive 3-y-o proved well suited by the drop to 6f, easily winning Ripon maiden and Hamilton in the spring. Stepped up further of late, posting 2 solid in-the-frame efforts over this C&D prior to resuming winning ways at Ascot (6f) 2 weeks ago. Draw could have been kinder, though.

Reliable type who won 5 times last year and filled runner-up spot three times so far this time around, suited by return to patient tactics when second behind Stratusnine in Sky Bet Dash over C&D 4 weeks ago. However, he's come on the worst end of the draw again on this occasion.

Verdict

DANCE IN THE STORM resumed her impressive progress despite being on the wrong end of the draw again when adding another 7f success to her tally at Chester 3 weeks ago, doing very well having come from last and wide. She's long since suggested a try at sprinting could see her to even better effect and is fancied to prove the point from a 4 lb higher mark. Stewards' Cup scorer Evening Saigon, Wednesday's course winner Air Force One and Pocklington head the dangers. Sondad is another in the mix.
