Won over C&D in November for Edward Bethell but not reached the same heights on turf this year. This return to all-weather and drop in grade will suit but now starts out for a new yard.
Twice a winner on all-weather and also scored at Yarmouth in April. Below par in better race than this on turf last month but this looks much more realistic so could take a hand.
Last won in 2024 from 8 lb higher mark but stopped the slide when fourth of 12 in a handicap over 1m at Newcastle 18 days ago, travelling fluently back down at this level, so he's one take seriously dropped to 7f for stable enjoying an excellent summer.
Three-time C&D winner who bounced back to best when second of 12 at Southwell 16 days ago. Only 1 lb above last winning mark and looks sure to go well from a handy draw.
Capitalised on falling mark when scoring in 14-runner handicap at Newcastle over 1m in June. Made the running that day and last 3 wins have all come when leading so a wide draw here could prove a stumbling block.
Twice a winner on all-weather and, though out of sorts this year, her last 3 outings have come on turf. First-time hood applied and should be suited by the return to this surface from falling mark.
Recorded 2 all-weather wins at 6f for Harry Charlton and hasn't been seen to best effect on turf for current yard this year so there's reasons to be positive about him returning to this venue assuming he lasts out back up to 7f.
Much better on all-weather and won over C&D in October. Made an encouraging return from 9 months off when fourth of 7 from 3 lb higher mark here in July and is excused his latest turf flop. Well worth considering.
All 3 career wins have come in fillies-only affairs, including here over 6f in April. Founds things much tougher on turf since and this task may again prove beyond her.
Won twice over C&D but is very inconsistent and has run poorly all 3 starts since finishing second in a lower grade here in March. Hard to catch right.
Has recorded 3 of his 4 career wins at this track, but all at a lower level and recent turf efforts leave him with a bit to find.

Forecasts
Racingbreaks Ryder (9/4), Chalk Mountain (7/2), Metal Merchant (11/2), Philanthropist (8/1), Kiniro (10/1), Wild Nature (10/1), Bridget's View (14/1), Berry Clever (14/1), Kitaro Kich (20/1), How Impressive (25/1), Lady Mariko (25/1)
METAL MERCHANT served warning that he's ready to strike when coming fourth down in grade at Newcastle last time and his stable's relentless good form this summer means he's well worth chancing to get the better of the rock-solid Chalk Mountain. Kiniro and Kitaro Kich are also appealing back on all-weather.
