Posted best effort for Tony Carroll when runner-up in 4-runner race over 1¼m here in June. On a lengthy losing run, however, and has been disappointing in both starts since. Blinkers back on.

Second and first in this the last 2 years and has run creditably the last twice, latterly when 5¾ lengths third of 7 to Gearing's Point in classified event over this trip (good) 45 days ago. More required to resume winning ways.

Verdict

GEARING'S POINT was a ready winner of a similar event here in June and backed that up with a solid run at Epsom. She makes some appeal if bouncing back from a below-par effort earlier in the week. Dream of Ithaca may provide the chief threat.
