Failed to better modest form in 6 starts for Ed Dunlop but improved as expected for the step up in trip and opened her account with plenty in hand in 11-runner event at Wolverhampton (1¾m) last week. Just the type her in-form yard excel with and remains of interest carrying a 5-lb penalty.

Typically slowly away but recorded a hat-trick last summer. Good effort when runner-up at Chepstow on second start this season, though struggled at Doncaster next time and was made to look very one paced when third of 6 at Leicester (1½m, good to firm) a fortnight ago.

Runner-up in a Cheltenham bumper on debut but only poor form switched to hurdles during 2025/26 campaign. Showed a bit more than previously in this sphere when fourth of 6 in novice at Salisbury (1¼m, good) just over 6 weeks ago and potentially capable of better again now handicapping.

Landed a bumper at Market Rasen on his debut last October. Little show initially on Flat but off the mark in 1¼m classified event here last month and followed up on handicap debut just a couple of days later in 8-runner event at Leicester (1½m). Up to completing the hat-trick.

Produced best effort for some time when scoring at Chepstow in June, his first win for present yard. Well beaten on both subsequent outings and significantly stepped back up in trip with a hood reapplied.

Won over 11.5f at Windsor on his first 2 starts in handicaps last season and has found only one too good on both starts this season, most recently in 8-runner event at Epsom (1½m, good to firm) earlier in the month. Reliable so worth considering.

Ended a lengthy losing run in a weak race at Wolverhampton in March and doubled tally for 2026 at Bath in May. Followed that with a lesser effort but back on track given more time when fourth of 13 at latter track last month.

Landed a second soft-ground victory here when successful in C&D classified event last month. Ran at least as well in defeat when third of 8 in handicap over C&D (good to firm) last time and not without each-way claims again from the same mark.

Maiden who hasn't fared any better for the switch to handicaps, having little go right when seventh of 12 at Bellewstown (14.5f, good) earlier in the month (stumbled and rider lost irons over 1f out). Still hard to recommend.

Forecasts

Pureis King (15/8), Zaraquelle (15/8), Just Adair (7/2), Miners Cabin (12/1), Buck Barrow (18/1), Virtual Hug (22/1), Trojan Truth (33/1), Noble Grace (40/1), Bobby Dassler (66/1)

Verdict

PUREIS KING had no problem with the longer trip/short turnaround when scoring at Leicester last month and with the Faye Bramley yard firing on all cylinders at present, he's fancied to complete the hat-trick at the expense of Zaraquelle, who opened her account with plenty in hand at Wolverhampton last week and is just the type her in-form yard excel with. The reliable Just Adair can fill out third.
