Plenty of promise for this yard but yet to kick on in handicaps, back in something less competitive yet failing to beat a rival in 6-runner event at Ffos Las (1m, good to firm) just over 3 weeks ago. Less exposed than most of these and worth chancing with stable going very well.
Has 3 C&D wins to his name since returning from a break, most recently in 11-runner event 5 weeks ago, leading final 100 yds. 3 lb rise far from insurmountable so should go well again.
Won twice on all-weather this year and remained in good form when fourth of 12 at this course (8.6f) a fortnight ago. Now just 1 lb above his last winning mark so shouldn't be underestimated with Silvestre De Sousa booked.
Is being kept busy in 2026, already winning 3 times on the all-weather. Has largely been holding his form on turf, third of 6 at Nottingham (8.3f, good to firm) 3 days ago.
Made a winning all-weather/handicap debut at Southwell (7f) in November 2024 but has failed to make a significant impact in 6 outings since, including upped to 1½m last time. Eased another 5 lb but needs to show more.
Son of Ulysses who showed definite promise in a trio of novice events. Hasn't made any real impact across 3 outings in handicaps and hopes pinned on a step up in trip working the oracle.
Ended a long losing run here in March (second past the post but promoted) and can have latest effort overlooked a fortnight ago (forced into a change of tactics after trying to anticipate the start). Now below last winning mark.
Gained first win for her current yard at this track (8.6f) in November. Hasn't made much of an impact on turf but back on track with the run of the race in her favour when third of 13 at Salisbury (1m, good) just over 5 weeks ago.
Three all-weather wins this year, including twice over C&D (latest last month). Creditable fourth next time and worth forgiving a lesser run last time as she was left poorly placed.
Still winless since taking the Spring Mile in 2024 but has dropped a long way in the weights and turned in by far his best effort of the season when third of 10 at Kempton (1m) just under a fortnight ago, finishing well from a long way back. Task is to build on that now.
Has a fine Carlisle record and proved at least as good as ever to get off the mark for the year in 8-runner event there (9f, good) earlier in the month, leading over 1f out. Nudged up just 2 lb and every chance he will be in the shake-up again.
Successful 3 times last year. Back on what should be a good mark but hasn't really offered enough of late to suggest he's likely to capitalise, not seen to best effect the way things developed at Kempton (11f) just under a fortnight ago.
Yet to score in 2026 but plenty of creditable efforts on all-weather. Down the field last 3 starts on turf (latest minus usual headgear) but may show more returned to synthetics in reapplied blinkers.

Forecasts
Bellasio (9/2), Kaaranah (5/1), Pulsar Star (6/1), Look Back Smiling (6/1), No Knee Never (7/1), Distinction (10/1), Imola (10/1), Eagle Day (14/1), Dark Rosa (14/1), Caledonian (14/1), American State (14/1), Symphony Of Joy (25/1), Concert Boy (50/1)
Cases can be made for several of these, but PULSAR STAR is less exposed than most and with his yard going very well, he gets the nod to open his account at the expense of Bellasio, who proved at least as good as ever when getting off the mark for the year at Carlisle earlier in the month. Kaaranah goes particularly well here, so John Butler's veteran rounds off the shortlist.
