Winner of the Lowther here in 2024 and a good third in this race last year. However, ended 2025 on a low-key note and went backwards from this season's return when well held in listed race at Carlisle 6 weeks ago.
Good test over 5f suited when landing Group 3 at Newbury in September. Didn't make much impact in the Palace House at Newmarket on reappearance, though wasn't ideally drawn when well held at Royal Ascot. Should benefit from return to 6f and she's shortlisted back down in grade.
Winner of this race in 2024 who was campaigned mainly at the highest level last year, placing on 2 occasions. Made a winning return this season in listed race at Newmarket in May, before getting upset in the stalls when running no sort of race at Royal Ascot. Worth another chance.
Took her form up to a useful level when landing a Redcar handicap (5f) last summer. Unseated rider at the start on her return, but left that behind when fourth of 15 in listed race at Ayr 20 days ago. Has plenty to find upped further in grade, though.
Without a win in 2025 though was placed 4 times at listed level. However, found it tough in this race last year and down the field both starts this season.
Ended her 3-y-o campaign on the up, winning 3 of her last 4 outings. Gave a good account in handicaps on first 2 starts back this season, before left poorly placed in listed race at Ayr 20 days ago. Looks worth another try at 6f, though improvement required up in class.
Won a Haydock maiden by 12 lengths on debut last summer and made the frame at pattern level next 3 starts, only narrowly denied in the Nell Gwyn at Newmarket on return. Faced a tough ask attempting to make the running in the Jersey at Royal Ascot, so she could fare better here.
Progressed with each of her 3 starts last year, the second of 2 victories coming in a 6f Group 3 at Ayr. Disappointed in the Fred Darling at Newbury on reappearance but it remains early days for her.
Fairly useful form at 2 yrs, landing the odds in a Leicester novice on third start. Has made the frame twice at listed level this season, fourth of 10 at Carlisle (7f) 16 days ago on second of them, though looks to face a difficult task in this contest.
Successful twice last year, including an Ascot Group 3, and bounced back from a lesser effort when fifth of 22 in Commonwealth Cup at the Royal Meeting 3 weeks ago. Will need to find further improvement to get competitive from the widest stall.
Useful at 2 yrs for Ed Walker, winning the Lowther here before a third in the Cheveley Park at Newmarket. Raced too freely when down the field in listed race at Newbury on seasonal/stable debut but could well take a step forward with cheekpieces/tongue strap added.
Successful in 3 of her 4 starts so far, bouncing back from a below-par effort in a French Group 3 when winning a listed race at Goodwood in May. Showed a good attitude last time but will need to find another chunk of improvement back at this level.
3-time winner as a juvenile, ending the campaign with listed success at Newmarket. Making third start of current season, outran odds of 50/1 when much-improved second in Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, beaten only a head by Venetian Sun. Major player back at this level.

SPICY MARG took a big step forward when going close in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and she can build on that effort back down in grade. She is taken to enhance the good recent record of 3-y-os in this race, at the expense of 2024 winner Flora of Bermuda. First Instinct looks worth another try at 6f and completes the shortlist.
