Placed in points. Likely marking time over 2m since finishing well-held fourth (behind 3 next-time-out winners) on hurdling debut at Market Rasen (2½m) in March. Steps back up in distance in tongue strap on handicap debut, and he could well make an immediate impact for excellent connections.

Long-standing maiden again gave her running when distant second behind a resurgent one at Downpatrick (2¾m) last time, and she isn't discounted for Irish stable that have had success here over the past few summers.

Low-mileage 6-y-o backed up his breakthrough success in 2m handicap here with a solid third at Hexham last time. Return to further shouldn't be an issue, and there could yet be more to come.

Now 6 lb higher than when winning this race under returning good-value claimer 12 months ago. In better heart than recent form figures would suggest, and he'll appreciate the return to further following creditable fifth at Hexham (2m) last time.

Has offered little in 3 maidens for excellent yard. Possibly significant that he's been sent across Irish Sea for this handicap debut, upped in trip with first-time cheekpieces to boot.

Belatedly off the mark in a 15-runner handicap at Newcastle (2½m) in March. Returned to form when fourth on first try over 3m at Southwell latest, and he may even find the drop back in distance to suit with front-running Malangen in the race.

Maiden potentially on a handy mark based on last season's novice form. Step back in the right direction when runner-up over 2m here latest, however, jumping is becoming a big concern (tends to go badly right).

Front-running veteran (successful 4 times here) is without a win in 14 starts. Probably would have won at Hexham in mid-June but for late unseat, though, and he did finish a place ahead of Betteryouthanme at Hexham last time.

Maiden shaped like a non-stayer over 3m here last time but looks the stable second string, regardless.

Long-standing maiden who lost his way for Maurice Barnes last year. Hard to be confident returning for new stable (in first-time hood) following 6 months off.
