Dream Legend⁷¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-10| J: Leigh Roche| T: E D Delany| OR: 56| CD

9/2

Form: 006-013

Switch to the all-weather worked the oracle when winning 7f nursery at Dundalk in November for Donnacha O'Brien, aided by first-time blinkers and hood. Ran creditably on debut for new yard when fourth there (1m) in March but tailed off back on turf last month. Headgear reapplied.

Form: 0144-40

6/1

Fared better dropped markedly in grade when third of 14 in handicap at Down Royal (7f, good) just under 5 weeks ago, staying on having been short of room over 1f out. Player if able to build on that here.

Standout effort at Dundalk came when fifth on handicap bow in April but finished well beaten on turf debut at Fairyhouse (7f, good) 5 weeks ago. Hopes pinned on first-time blinkers/tongue tie working the oracle.

Due In June²⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: Colin Keane| T: Ian Donoghue| OR: 51

11/2

Progressed gradually in maidens and shaped better than the bare result on handicap debut when ninth of 15 at Fairyhouse (6f, good to soft) just under 3 weeks ago, would have benefited from stronger handling. One to keep an eye on with Keane taking over in the plate.

Form: 7869

(16)

Ran well after 4 months off when second at Dundalk in April but below that level since, though latest Down Royal effort easy to ignore (hampered over 2f out). Dropped another chunk by the handicapper so she's an interesting contender.

Forecasts

Dream Legend (9/2), Cause I Like You (5/1), Borora Aura (11/2), Due In June (11/2), Fontaine Khaled (6/1), Wicklow Gap (13/2), Beau Army (10/1), Bullet Bourbon (16/1), Wedding Year (18/1), Stonyfalls (25/1), Enthusiastically (33/1), Threebiggulps (40/1), Caoilte (40/1), Nosmokewithoutfire (50/1), Hugo Spritz (50/1)

Cases can be made for several and at the likely prices it could be worth taking a chance on CAUSE I LIKE YOU, who shaped as if back in form in refitted cheekpieces when fifth at Ballinrobe recently and this return to 1m should be a big help. Dream Legend upped his game in the spring, and he looks a significant threat having been freshened up since, with Fontaine Khaled and Due In June rounding off the shortlist.
