Yet another fine advert for his yard, gaining a sixth win of the all-weather season at Lingfield in March. Performed with plenty of credit on 2 of his 3 starts on turf subsequently but handicapper may have caught up with him judged on his latest Newmarket fifth. Down in class.

C&D winner (won this in 2024) who registered a second success of 2025 at Southwell (1m) in November. Feasible to think last month's Pontefract reappearance was needed and better can be expected with usual cheekpieces refitted.

Three-time C&D winner who bounced back to something like his best when finishing a close-up third at Kempton (7f) 10 days ago. Arrives on same mark he defied at Southwell in January and he ought to give another good account.

Ran well several times in good handicaps last year but produced a rather underwhelming effort following 9 months off when ninth of 10 at Haydock (7f) 3 weeks ago. Handy draw to work from having eased a little more in the weights and not entirely discounted.

Won a competitive big-field 7f York handicap 12 months ago and produced easily his best effort since when third at Thirsk (1m) 2 weeks ago, coming from much further back than the first 2. That was a good race for the grade and interesting from same mark.

In very good nick in 2026, just edged out when fourth of 16 in handicap at Ripon (6f) prior to finishing a respectable third over that trip at Southwell 4 weeks ago. Effective at this longer trip and he's another with claims.

C&D winner who ran creditably on second start following a breathing operation when fourth at Newcastle (7f) in December. Ran no more than respectably following 5 months off when sixth at Haydock (7f) 3 weeks ago but that ought to have blown the cobwebs away.

Won 3 times last season and showed benefit of reappearance when just denied over C&D in April, having been caught further back than ideal. Disappointed at Thirsk since but that did come on easier ground and bounce back certainly not ruled out.

Generally had a good winter on the all-weather, winning a handicap at Newcastle (7f) in February. Holding form well on turf prior to a lesser display when fifth at Musselburgh (7f) 9 days ago but he's drawn wider than ideal on this occasion.

Headstrong sort who made the frame 3 times in the second half of 2025. Well held on return but not seen to best effect when finishing mid-field in pair of 7f handicaps at Haydock/Thirsk earlier this month. Mark is easing all the time and better showing could be on the cards.

Without a victory in 2025 but proved consistent for Pam Sly until a below-par effort at Goodwood in July. Back with a former trainer this year and has had excuses all 3 starts, ridden aggressively when third at Yarmouth (7f) 17 days ago. Lurks on a dangerous mark.

Forecasts

Frankies Dream (7/2), Goldmoyne (4/1), Diligent Resdev (9/2), Physique (15/2), Bell Shot (15/2), Havana Blue (9/1), Glenfinnan (12/1), Billyb (12/1), Capital Guarantee (18/1), Roberto Caro (20/1), Benacre (25/1)

Verdict

FRANKIES DREAM produced his best effort since landing a big field York handicap this time last year when third at Thirsk 2 weeks ago, a run that can be marked up given he come from much further back than the first 2. He looks set for another profitable campaign on that evidence and earns the vote over Glenfinnan who hasn't been seen to best effect on his last 2 starts. Physique and Capital Guarantee are just a couple of others to consider.
