Appeared to benefit from more of a test on soft ground for the first time when ending last year with success at Leicester (7f) in October. However, offered little after 6 months off (also gelded) at Redcar 4 weeks ago and it could be that he'll prove best when the mud is flying.
Fared better than previously when fourth in a Thirsk novice (1m) on penultimate start but that was a muddling race and not in anything like the same form when well held on handicap debut at Redcar (1m) 3 weeks ago. Drops back in trip now.
Best effort in handicaps when second of 11 at Wolverhampton (7f) in March. Subsequent Kempton run has to go down as disappointing but bounce back not ruled out on turf debut.
Soldier's Call gelding who found appreciable improvement dropped to this trip when opening his account at Wolverhampton 16 days ago, setting a sound gallop and going clear. Good claims raised 5 lb back on turf.
Kept very busy as a juvenile, placed on 2 occasions but he ended the campaign below form on all-weather. Gelded over the winter and returns operating from career-low mark so one to monitor in the betting for a positive move.
Found improvement when dead-heating at Wetherby (1m) in April and paid for a big move into contention when fourth at Ripon (1m) on latest outing 2 weeks ago. Not discounted back at 7f.
Some promise for Andrew Balding on debut but well beaten in 4 runs for this yard.
Returned this year with pair of in-the-frame efforts at Newcastle and excuses on account of the draw at Pontefract 2 starts back. However, latest Redcar display has to go down as disappointing and bounce back called for.
Standout effort when runner-up on handicap debut at Newcastle (6f) in March. Finished midfield both outings since and she'll need to pull out a little more equipped with first-time cheekpieces to feature over this longer trip.
Has been shaping up nicely in all-weather handicaps and again didn't get the chance to show what she could do when fifth at Doncaster (7f) 3 weeks ago. Not one to write off from her basement mark.
Yet to win in 8 starts but fared better than previously with her reappearance behind her when fourth at Redcar (1m) 2 weeks ago, run out of the places late on. Should prove as equally effective back at this trip on that evidence.

Forecasts
Musical Soldier (5/2), Trucial Pearl (9/2), Hood Wink (11/2), South Coast Star (11/2), Hear The Drums (7/1), Lope Y Linda (9/1), Belling The Cat (10/1), Supreme Dancer (18/1), Antique Blue (25/1), Dream Forever (33/1), Rocklaw (50/1)
MUSICAL SOLDIER found appreciable improvement on his first try at this trip when scoring decisively from the front at Wolverhampton 16 days ago and he ought to take some stopping from a 5 lb higher mark back on turf. Trucial Pearl isn't one to write off from a basement mark and is feared. Lope Y Linda and South Coast Star complete the shortlist.
