Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: D Nolan| T: R A Fahey| OR: 60

6/1

12/1, bit below form sixth of 12 in handicap at Doncaster (7f, good to firm) 23 days ago. Has first-time cheekpieces added and can make presence felt if returning to the form of his Lingfield effort 2 starts back.

Form: 454-246

(5)

Cobalt Comet^h²⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: Cam Hardie| T: J Mackie| OR: 58

17/2

Lightly-raced maiden. 66/1, proved different proposition when third of 6 on handicap debut at Southwell (1m) 25 days ago. Can step up again on turf debut.

Form: 0663

(10)

Hatamoto⁴⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: Sean Kirrane| T: T D Easterby| OR: 55

13/8

Thrice-raced maiden. 80/1, inadequate test when sixth of 11 in maiden at Catterick (7f, good to firm) in April. Is an interesting sort stepping up in trip on handicap debut.

Form: 55-6

(3)

Smoker Bellamy^p1²⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 8-13| J: D Tudhope| T: Dr R Newland| OR: 50

11/2

Showed improved form under a positive ride when second at Wolverhampton in April. Looked hard ride when tailed off at Beverley (1¼m, good to firm) 25 days ago. Back down in trip and is fitted with first-time cheekpieces but has a bit to prove.

Form: 8664-20

(8)

Helios Path²²

Age: 3| Weight: 8-12| J: P J McDonald| T: Steph Hollinshead| OR: 49

18/1

Well held all 3 starts to date. Market best guide making handicap bow.

Form: 0-58

(9)

Mereside Princess^b¹⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 8-12| J: Mark Winn| T: T D Barron| OR: 49

7/2

Refitted with blinkers, again failed to settle when third of 8 in handicap at Ripon (1¼m, good, 11/1) 10 days ago. Back down in trip but others more persuasive.

Form: 376643

(4)

The Floors Munky¹¹

Age: 3| Weight: 8-10| J: Amie Waugh⁽³⁾| T: Gary Rutherford| OR: 47

33/1

Has yet to match the modest form shown on debut last summer for Iain Jardine. Hard to make a case for back up in trip.

Form: 5-700

(2)

Dandy Orton^h¹⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 8-9| J: A Mullen| T: W Storey| OR: 45

50/1

Finished down the field on all 5 starts as a juvenile for Ollie Sangster and failed to make any impact for new yard at Hamilton 15 days ago. Very hard to make a case for here.

Form: 75755-6

(7)

Royal Baroness²¹³

Age: 3| Weight: 8-9| J: Rhys Elliott⁽⁵⁾| T: R M Smith| OR: 45

22/1

Hasn't shown any ability in 3 starts and is easily passed over on handicap debut.

Form: 660-

Forecasts

Hatamoto (13/8), Mereside Princess (7/2), Smoker Bellamy (11/2), Thankfully Simmy (6/1), Cobalt Comet (17/2), Helios Path (18/1), Royal Baroness (22/1), Too Darn Spicy (22/1), The Floors Munky (33/1), Dandy Orton (50/1)

This race lacks depth and HATAMOTO is taken to make a winning switch to handicaps. Thankfully Simmy just about shades it for second ahead of Cobalt Comet.
