Lost his way for Eoin Doyle over hurdles but caused a surprise after 7 months off when winning 5-runner event at Thirsk (1¾m, good) just over a fortnight ago, very much having the run of the race. Nudged up just 2 lb for that and would be a danger to all if able to repeat such tactics.
Ended long losing run in handicap hurdle at Ludlow in November and took advantage of a much-reduced mark returned to the Flat in 7-runner event at Bath (17f, good to soft) last month. Ran at least as well when second of 7 over C&D (good) just over 3 weeks ago. In the mix again.
Well supported and finally opened his account after several near misses in 4-runner event at Southwell (1¾m) just under 6 weeks ago, the application of cheekpieces possibly making the difference in an extremely tight finish. Not out of things nudged up just 2 lb.
Useful at his best but hasn't scored in this sphere since December 2023. Got more competitive than for some time from a career-low mark without landing a serious blow when third of 5 in at Southwell (1¾m) last month and others more appealing given his strike rate.
Dual winner at up to 2m last season. Never figured back on the Flat (little impact in 3 maiden hurdles prior to that) 10 weeks ago but handicapper has given him a squeak (cheekpieces also reapplied).
Made good progress in handicaps towards the back end of last year, making it 3 wins in his last 5 starts over 17f at Bath in October. Beaten a long way out on yard/hurdling debut but more like it 3 months on when third of 7 over C&D last month. Tailed off back hurdling since, however.

Forecasts
No More Bolero (11/4), Scottish Dancer (3/1), Rupert The Prince (7/2), Trojan Soldier (4/1), Vaguely Royal (13/2), Elemental Eye (11/1), Marbuzet (12/1)
Hard to rule out any of these so it could be worth taking a chance on ELEMENTAL EYE, who never figured back on the Flat at Newcastle in March but cheekpieces are reapplied for his return to turf. No More Bolero looks to be getting his act together for James Owen and he can edge out Scottish Dancer for the forecast spot.
