Had a busy and productive campaign last year, winning twice over C&D and adding a 5f York nursery in the autumn. Better for reappearance when fourth of 12 over 6f at Chester (good to firm) 11 days ago. David Allan looks elsewhere but has to enter calculations at a venue which clearly suits.
Beverley maiden winner over 5f last summer and bettered that form when a close second in a 6f nursery at the York Ebor meeting. Not seen again until respectable sixth of 14 in 5f Thirsk handicap (good) 29 days. Should be spot on now.
Got off the mark in maiden at Ayr (5.5f, good) last July and runner-up 3 times in handicaps since, showing improved form when going down by a neck (and clear of rest) on 6f Ripon reappearance 31 days ago. Raised 4 lb but still merits respect.
Very good spell on all-weather since joining George Boughey, winning 3 times. Would have gone close with more luck in running when third of 10 at Lingfield (6f) 19 days ago. Runner-up on turf for previous yard. Considered.
Placed in small-field nurseries off marks in the low-80s last year and returned to win a 6f Newcastle maiden 4 weeks ago. Will need an improved effort to win a race as competitive as this but no surprise were he to have a bigger performance in him.
Left his placed form as a juvenile behind to make a successful handicap debut/reappearance at Bath (5.7f, good to soft) last month. Decisive 2-length winner of that 13-runner race and there could easily be more to come. A must for the shortlist.
Promising start to his career on all-weather at Newcastle, winning a 5f novice in January before stepping up to 6f to make a promising start to his handicap career 16 days ago, going down only to a progressive sort. Open to further progress now switching to turf.
All-weather novice winner last year. Cheekpieces on first time (retained), good fourth of 11 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) 11 days ago. no extra late on. Won't be inconvenienced by the return to 6f.
Ended his 2-y-o campaign with an easy win in a 6f Pontefract maiden (heavy) in October. Tongue tied first time (retained), raced too freely when well held in 7f Newmarket handicap on reappearance 33 days ago. The return to 6f may help but others are more persuasive.
Looked suited by the drop to 6f when easily landing short odds in Ripon maiden 9 days ago. Got away without being raised and could well be treated now moving into a handicap. Interesting that David Allan is on him rather than stablemate Go Vince Go, who he partnered to win twice over C&D last year.
Showed a good attitude when doubling his tally on reappearance/all-weather debut at Southwell (5f) last month. Met some trouble when never landing a blow at Chester last week and better judged on the Southwell run.
Ended his juvenile season in good style with success in a 6f Ayr maiden. 9/1, better for run when fifth of 7 in handicap at Pontefract (6f, good) 24 days ago.
Raced on all-weather so far, winning 6f Wolverhampton novice in February but down the field in 2 handicaps since. Others are preferred now switching to turf.
Improved for the step up to 7f when going close on nursery debut at Yarmouth last September. Raced on the unfavoured part of the track when well held on 7f Leicester reappearance and that effort is probably best ignored. First-time blinkers replace the cheekpieces he wore at Leicester.

A really good 3-y-o sprint. RED SPELLS DANGER faced a simple task in maiden company at Ripon last week but it was still striking how powerfully he travelled tackling 6f for the first time and it's interesting that David Allan seemingly prefers him to stablemate Go Vince Go, who is 2-2 over C&D and ran a cracker at Chester last week. Dandy Breeze, Marcellinus, Mo of Cairo and Alasrae are others with plenty to recommend them.
- Go Vince Go10/1
- Dandy Breeze20/1
