Plenty of placed efforts to his name over fences but still a maiden and once again didn't find much when below-form fourth of 5 at Wetherby (15f, good) on latest start 6 weeks ago.
Drawn a blank since Market Rasen handicap hurdle success for Ian Williams in March 2023. Has left Dan Skelton since finishing a well-held fifth at Plumpton in March. Switches to fences for new yard.
Largely consistent on the Flat last year. Not disgraced back hurdling at Carlisle in October but pulled up at Wetherby later that month. Not seen again until well held on the Flat at Catterick 31 days ago but he may come on for the outing. Chase debut.
One-time fairly useful hurdler/winning chaser for Henry de Bromhead, but no recent form and increasingly looks one to avoid.
C&D winner on good in October and runner-up back here (good to soft) 4 weeks later. Below par since but back on that successful mark if a return to Hexham sparks a revival.
Just 1-15 over fences but was back on form when second of 7 over 2m at Sedgefield (good to soft) 38 days ago. Good shout if showing up in similar form.
Fair winning hurdler for Olly Murphy but little promise for Lizzie Quinlan last season, including pulled up over fences at Newcastle in March. His mark is in freefall but would need to see market support to consider.
Can make mistakes but largely consistent for Maurice Barnes last year, including belatedly opening his account in C&D handicap (good to soft) in June. Very interesting on first start for Adam Nicol after 132 days off.
Not one for maximum faith (has often promised more than delivered) and he's usually easy to take on for the win. Has refitted cheekpieces combined with a hood for the first time.

Forecasts
Conquer The Breeze (11/10), V Twelve (11/2), Ghasham (13/2), We Got Your Back (7/1), Zero Tolerance (9/1), Natural Ability (10/1), Beat The Edge (12/1), Starman (20/1), Sao Carlos (40/1), Baptism Of Fire (150/1)
Adam Nicol has done well with new recruits lately and CONQUER THE BREEZE, a C&D winner for the now-retired Maurice Barnes last summer, is taken to make a winning start for the yard. We Got Your Back has a win and second to show from his 2 visits to Hexham and is feared most ahead of last-time-out Sedgefield runner-up Natural Ability.

- Natural Ability10/1
