Shaped like a stayer in bumper on Rules debut and, in spite of the drop back in distance, showed more than on first 2 starts over hurdles when fourth of 9 in 17f novice Newcastle in March. This trip should be more suitable on handicap bow.

Pulled clear with a progressive type at Newcastle only start in bumpers. Has shown promise 2 of 3 starts in novice hurdles, finishing with running left when sixth of 9 at this course (2¼m) 16 days ago. Could yet do better as he makes handicap debut.

Confirmed promise of previous couple of runs when finally opening her hurdles account at Catterick (2m) in February. Lesser effort next time but soon bounced back when runner-up over this C&D last month.

Winner at Perth last summer and has returned from a 4-month break in good heart, third of 6 in a class 4 over this C&D before runner-up at Perth 2 weeks ago. Respected in his current form.

Market Rasen winner last summer and good effort on return from 7 months off when third at Newcastle in March, shaping second best for a long way. Possibly found the race coming too soon there 11 days later, so no surprise to see her bounce back.

Dual point winner who left previous form over hurdles behind when runner-up in 2½m maiden at Newcastle in March. Too keen upped to 3m when last of 4 on handicap debut at the same course 25 days ago, so this drop back in trip could help.

Some promise in novice/maiden hurdles around 2½m. Best effort in handicaps when fourth of 9 at Ayr in November, though failing to get home over 3m, before shaping as if needing the run after 4 months off at Newcastle in March.

Not beaten far when making the frame both starts in bumpers but hasn't offered much over hurdles so far, faring no better back up in trip when last of 8 in handicap over this C&D last month.

Made little impact over hurdles for Ian Donoghue in Ireland and pulled up in a pair of handicaps for current yard. Hood now reached for.

In first-time cheekpieces, produced best effort in handicaps when fourth in 11-runner contest at Sedgefield (2½m) in March. Shaped like a stayer that day and it was a similar story when seventh of 12 at Newcastle 25 days ago.

Forecasts

Thorneylands (2/1), Maillot Blanc (3/1), Helsgetaway (6/1), Long Time Listener (15/2), Georgie's Malt (9/1), Vanilla Dancer (10/1), Lone Star (14/1), Return To Florida (14/1), Royal Maggs (40/1), Venturevango (50/1)

Verdict

Preference is for THORNEYLANDS, who caught the eye on his qualifying run at this course last month and remains with potential as he heads into handicaps. Maillot Blanc isn't taken lightly, though, arriving on the back of 2 good efforts, while Lone Star had excuses on her latest outing and could be in the mix.
