Resumed with Carlisle listed race win in November. Quite lightly raced since and turned in lacklustre display in a change of headgear when fifteenth in Ultima at the Cheltenham Festival. Usual cheekpieces go back on now though so no surprise to see last year's winner bounce back.
Blows hot and cold and has failed to kick on after his reappearance victory in Sodexo Gold Cup (3m) at Ascot in November, only ninth in Ladbrokes Trophy at Kempton last time. Tongue tie is added after a break.
Reliable sort who bagged the Berkshire National at Ascot (3m5f) in November. Jumped better than usual when a very good second of 16 in Midlands National at Uttoxeter last month and can race off the same mark here.
Has yet to win over fences but went very close with an excellent neck second of 23 to Ask Brewster in Kim Muir at Cheltenham (3¼m) last month. Quite an enthusiastic type but still has to enter calculations over this longer trip for all-conquering yard.
Back to form with a bang when winning Edinburgh National at Musselburgh in February and followed it up with an excellent third of 10 to Havaila in handicap at Plumpton (3½m) 19 days ago. No forlorn hope.
Capable of very useful form at his best but he's yet to fire in 3 runs this season and it's now over 3 years since his last success. Tried in different headgear here after a break.
A dual chase winner (around 3m) last season for Venetia Williams. Changed hands for £220,000 after and has posted solid placed efforts for his new yard in 3m handicaps here and at Ascot either side of Christmas. Not out of things stepped up in trip.
Exuberant type who arrives very much on the upgrade, following an impressive Newbury success with an easy victory in the Sussex National at Plumpton (3½m) 19 days ago. Hiked up another 10 lb but he's not taken lightly in his hat-trick bid.
Front-runner who made it 4 wins in his last 5 starts when digging deep to edge out Road To Home in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham (3¼m) last month. Further progress can't be ruled out in his current mood.
It's now nineteen runs since his last win in 2022 and this veteran was pulled up in Scottish National at Ayr a week ago. Very hard to warm to.
Made all in the 3½m Southern National at Fontwell on his return in November and got right back on track when second in handicap chase at Exeter (31f) last month. This demands another step forward though.

Road To Home (4/1), In d'Or (9/2), Montregard (9/2), Havaila (5/1), Ask Brewster (11/2), Rock My Way (15/2), Resplendent Grey (8/1), Transmission (12/1), Our Power (14/1), Henry's Friend (14/1), Livin On Luco (18/1), Invincible Nao (25/1), Certainly Red (25/1), Gabbys Cross (28/1)
A case can be made for a few in a cracking renewal of the bet365 Gold Cup but Tom Lacey's likeable MONTREGARD could prove the answer freshened up after a break with this longer distance also looking a real plus. The hat-trick seeking Havaila rates a big threat though, while Kim Muir 1-2 Ask Brewster and Road To Home seem sure to be on the premises too. In D'Or completes the shortlist.
