Fair maiden who ran up to best back in handicap company despite not getting the rub f the green when fourth in 9-runner event at Bath (5f, good) 18 days ago. Should remain competitive from a 1lb lower mark on first tapeta outing.

Yet to build on a promising debut over C&D but showed good speed upped to 6f at Chelmsford latest, so of major interest dropping back to the minimum trip on handicap debut.

Successful 3 times last year, including at Lingfield (5f) in November. Went down only to a stable switcher back there in January and possibly needed the run on first outing for current yard at Bath 11 weeks on.

Produced an improved performance when winning 12-runner handicap over C&D last month, benefiting from breaking better than usual. Nudged up 4 lb but future prospects depend on how well she exits from the stalls.

Different proposition equipped with a visor and allowed to stride on (crucially settled better) when making all in clear-cut fashion at Wolverhampton (5.1f) in March. Run best excused from a 9 lb higher mark at Lingfield subsequently, having been rushed up to lead after very awkward break.

Forecasts

Life After Love (6/5), Blue Deveron (5/4), Believeinmenow (13/2), Sands of Seve (14/1), Beach Partee (33/1)

Verdict

BLUE DEVERON has yet to build on a promising debut over C&D, but he showed good speed upped to 6f at Chelmsford on his most recent outing and a return to 5f promises to pay dividends now switching to handicap company. Sands of Seve can have his latest effort easily overlooked and is much better judged on his convincing success at Wolverhampton the time before.
