Two C&D wins in recent months, latterly seeing off 7 rivals in a handicap. A 4 lb rise demands more but has to be respected in his current mood.

Three-time C&D winner, including 2 classified events in February. No more than a respectable fourth of 7 back in handicap company here since, though.

Pair of 6f Wolverhampton wins last month and can have a line put through a recent outing at Southwell as he met trouble just as the race was developing. Considered.

C&D winner who added 2 more Catterick wins last year (good record there). Ran poorly here on final start and might be best watched after 6 months off.

Won a 5f classified event here last month. Shaped better than result (hampered start) when seventh of 13 in handicap at Southwell (5f again) 18 days ago. Back up in trip.

Five-time C&D winner. Went close to another in February but hasn't been in quite the same form in his 4 outings since, a very slow start not helping last time.

C&D winner in September 2024 but has drawn a blank since, including last of 8 on 6f Catterick reappearance 12 days ago. Fircombe Hall is the more obvious of the yard's pair.

Three wins in 2023 (including C&D) but currently on a losing run of 40 and recent efforts don't suggest that's likely to change now.

Three-time C&D winner but 19 runs since the last one in 2024. Well-held sixth of 8 over C&D (50/1) 30 days ago. Others are preferred again.

First run since for yard when promising fourth of 11 in classified event (10/1) at Wolverhampton (6f) 27 days ago, finishing with running left. Interesting.

Forecasts

Sedgemoor (5/2), The Gay Blade (7/2), Fircombe Hall (5/1), Asadjumeirah (6/1), Auntie Jo (10/1), Gimmieminnie (12/1), Indy's Angel (14/1), Quercus (14/1), World Of Darcy (25/1), Bernie The Bear (25/1), Nazca (33/1)

Verdict

GIMMIEMINNIE was an eye-catcher on last month's first outing for Daragh Bourke and is given a chance to build on that promise. Being in form counts for plenty in this grade so 2 C&D wins this year make Sedgemoor a must for the shortlist. Fircombe Hall had an excuse last time and is another with recent winning form to his name.
