Virgin Bet A Good Bet Handicap (Div 2)

Fairly useful 7f winner for Charlie Appleby who was sold for 28,000 gns having been amiss on final start for the yard in April 2024. Notable that Billy Loughnane is booked for his return, though, and this well-bred 5-y-o is one to keep an eye on in the market.

Gambled on when landing second C&D success in February but did plenty wrong when turned over (4/7) behind City of God in a Chelmsford seller later that month. Hopes he can settle better from inside draw and looks worth another chance on balance.

Below form when eighth of 12 at Lingfield in October, and while only 1 lb above his latest winning mark for this return, he's yet to win (0-9) on the all-weather.

Made it 2 wins on the all-weather when successful in fairly useful Chelmsford seller for Karl Burke in late-February (subsequently sold for £12,000). Returns to a handicap (without cheekpieces) on first start for new yard and he's less exposed than most in this field.

Yet to fire this season, though connections try new headgear/trip, and he could outrun his odds off 3 lb lower than his last success (at this course in December 2024).

Still below the form he showed for previous stable when fifth of 8 in 7f handicap at Wolverhampton last time, though cheekpieces go on for first time since joining capable new yard.

Has stood little racing of late and was too free when last of 7 on reappearance/stable debut at Wolverhampton. Cheekpieces on first time but hard to be confident.

Has landed all 3 wins here, proving better than ever when successful over C&D in October, and it's highly encouraging to see Oisin Murphy (1-1) aboard for his return, too.

Didn't look to be progressing when eighth of 14 in C&D handicap last October and returns in a stronger race than he need contest.
