Firmly on the upgrade for current yard, landing a pair of Dundalk handicaps in impressive fashion 3 months apart. One to keep on the right side of and has to be taken seriously off top weight.

Smart performer on all-weather who won 3 minor events at Dundalk in 2025 and made the most of a good opportunity on second start for current yard there in February. However, not in the same form back up in grade at Lingfield on most recent outing. Needs to bounce back in first-time blinkers.

Gained reward for his consistency as he ended a long losing run stretching back to 2024 in 7-runner handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW) in February. Ran even better when second in listed event at Wolverhampton since, though very much to the detriment of his mark.

Completed a hat-trick on all-weather in the first half of 2025 and ran up to his best when second of 7 in 6f handicap at Lingfield in February, nearest finish. Unsuited by the step up in trip when qualifying for this race at Wolverhampton on most recent outing.

Ran very well off top weight when third in the corresponding event 12 months earlier and shaped with more encouragement than of late when third in 8-runner listed event at Wolverhampton (7.2f) last month. Slow starting ways not so much an issue at this track, and he needs considering.

Made it back-to-back 6f handicap wins at Kempton in February, taking his record on all-weather to 3 from 3. However, seemed to be found out by another rise in the weights in a slightly better race at Lingfield since.

Enhanced his excellent all-weather record when bagging 13-runner handicap at Southwell (6f, 7/4) on New Year's Day, driven out. Ran even better in defeat in a refitted visor over C&D subsequently and seems sure to go well again.

Has already built up a good strike rate in his short career, recording a third success when making all in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) in November. Found only a well-treated course specialist at the top of his game too good at Kempton on most recent outing and interesting back at a sprint trip.

Made a fine start to his career, recording a hat-trick in 3-y-o All-Weather Championship race over C&D last spring. Underperformed for pretty much the first time in his life on all-weather over C&D on most recent outing but can bounce back.

Progressive in 2025, ended his time with Kevin Philippart de Foy with a decisive success at Windsor (6f) in June. Found run of good form coming toa halt on third start for current yard in race won by reopposing Pocklington in June but strikes as the type to bounce back quickly.

Lightly raced since 2024 but has shaped as if retaining plenty of ability this winter, including when storming home from a poor position over C&D in January. Left poorly placed at Lingfield since and not one to write off in a refitted tongue strap (also had a breathing operation).

Making just third start for current yard when scoring readily at Southwell (6.1f) in October and has shaped well both outings since, coming from further back than the other 3 that filled the frame at Lingfield (6f) latest. Bigger field and likely stronger pace will suit and he's shortlisted.

Pocklington (9/2), Marshman (9/2), Lakers (13/2), Wiltshire (7/1), Sarab Star (7/1), Ferrous (15/2), Sir Les Patterson (15/2), Berkshire Whisper (14/1), Fivethousandtoone (18/1), El Bodon (18/1), Heathcliff (28/1), Valiant Force (28/1), City House (33/1), So Darn Hot (40/1)

Verdict

A fiercely-competitive handicap as it should be for the money on offer. WILTSHIRE has shown he retains plenty of ability since returning to action this winter and is attractively handicapped in a refitted tongue strap on his past exploits, including at this venue, so he could be the way to go. Lakers seems sure to benefit from this bigger field/stronger pace scenario and is undoubtedly interesting, with hat-trick seeker Sir Les Patterson, Sarab Star and Pocklington a trio of others to note.
