TIMELY AFFAIR looked to have been let off lightly by the handicapper when winning at Southwell in January and, despite disappointing as favourite subsequently, this relatively unexposed gelding retains plenty of potential at this level. Homme de Fer has yet to finish out of the frame since switching to all-weather and can fight it out with Whiskey Sunrise for the placings.
