William Henry Robinson Novices' Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 15:16 | Winning time: 3m 57.54s

Risk It All³¹

Age: 5| Weight: 12-0| J: Freddie Mitchell⁽³⁾| T: G & J Moore| OR: 98

6/5

Easy winner only start on Flat in France (at around 2m). Has proved inconsistent over hurdles but produced one of his better efforts when clear second (behind subsequent winner) at Fakenham latest.

Form: 26-3202

Kill The Groove^p1,t³⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Tom Cannon| T: K Jewell| OR: 96

17/2

Went close in a weak C&D handicap in January but cheekpieces go on having been below form under similar conditions last time.

Form: 33P624

Major Major²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: James Best| T: Cynthia Woods| OR: 90

40/1

Modest 3-time winner on Flat for Richard Hannon (stays 1½m) and though well held at long odds in trio of hurdle runs, there's hope he can make more impact now handicapping.

Form: 575

Kingston Bresil²⁴⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 11-4| J: Charlie Maggs⁽³⁾| T: Mrs L Hill| OR: 88

2/1

Maiden finished third over C&D as a novice and posted his best effort in handicaps when third on latest start at Cartmel in July. Has a drop back in trip/8-month absence to overcome, though.

Form: 639-453

My Lovely Horse^p1²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-13| J: Brendan Powell| T: D G Bridgwater| OR: 83

11/1

Third both starts in point bumpers and while there haven't been many positives to take from hurdling efforts thus far (has bled), first-time cheekpieces/switch to handicaps can only help.

Form: 3-6P6P3

Foinix⁶⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-13| J: R P McLernon| T: J & S Best| OR: 83

33/1

Modest stayer on Flat and despite not offering much in this sphere to date, he still warrants a market check on handicap bow.

Form: 556

Charles Morin¹⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-11| J: Sean Houlihan| T: P Phelan| OR: 81

8/1

Likely to have hit the frame but for unseating on second handicap start in this sphere last April. Confirmed himself in good heart with narrow second on all-weather last month and ought to be competitive back over hurdles.

Form: 6480U-

Somkiyr²¹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-8| J: Caoilin Quinn| T: A Irvine| OR: 78

22/1

Handicap debutant had fair form on the Flat in France but it's hard to be confident based on what he's shown over hurdles to date, looking a fairly hard ride over C&D last time.

Form: 55P6

Non-Runners

Jacquetta³⁹

Weight: 10-12| Age: 5

T: G & J Moore J: Caoilin Quinn

Forecasts

Risk It All (6/5), Kingston Bresil (2/1), Jacquetta (15/2), Charles Morin (8/1), Kill The Groove (17/2), My Lovely Horse (11/1), Somkiyr (22/1), Foinix (33/1), Major Major (40/1)

RISK IT ALL may again get the run of the race, as he did when chasing home a subsequent winner at Fakenham last time. Stablemate Jacquetta is worth noting for support, along with fellow handicap debutant Major Major.
