Just the one success to his name but arrives in good form with three placed efforts, most recently when runner-up at Chelmsford (1¼m) 24 days ago. Should be in the mix from an unchanged mark.

Right back in the groove when landing back-to-back wins at Lingfield and Southwell this winter but has found it tougher since upped to this grade.

Plenty of promise for Johnny Murtagh on turf last summer, including when second of 15 at Galway in September. Curragh effort the following month can be overlooked so worth a market check on all-weather debut returning for a new yard.

Lilly Lux21
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-9| J: J Mitchell| T: George Baker| OR:  70
Fair ex-French 1m4f winner who posted easily her best run for current yard when a running on second of 7 in handicap at Southwell (11.1f) in January. Didn't see her race out over C&D last month and her patchy form is a concern.

Confirmed the improvement shown when fourth of 12 in a novice at Southwell (13/2) last month. Handicap debut today and is bred to appreciate this longer trip.

Runner-up in all 3 bumper starts last year but only modest form on all 3 Flat outings, shaping better when sixth of 9 at Lingfield 11 days ago. One to note now handicapping over this longer trip.

Meet Me In Meraki34
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-6| J: Tom Marquand| T: P D Evans| OR:  67
Got back on track to a certain extent when seventh of 9 at Lingfield 5 weeks ago, not really seen to best effect the way the race developed. Now just 2 lb above his last winning mark and the booking of Marquand is a positive.

Sonnerie Power39
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-4| J: R Havlin| T: D Killahena & G McPherson| OR:  65| CD
C&D winner on yard debut in January before paying the price for being the first to go after the 2 tearaway leaders when fifth of 12 at Lingfield (4/1) later that month. Still looks well treated and a return to this course rates a plus.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-4| J: Jack Dace(5)| T: Mrs A J Perrett| OR:  65
Lightly-raced filly who has shown some ability in her four runs to date. Finished third of 7 on handicap debut at Lingfield (6/1) when last seen 11 months ago, racing wide and still appearing rough around the edges. Likely to be suited by this trip but entitled to need the run.

Finished third for the fourth successive race in 9-runner event at Lingfield (4/1) 18 days ago, suited by the way it developed. Should continue to give a good account.

Take The Boat22
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-0| J: William Cox| T: G Nicholls| OR:  61| C
Cashed in on handy mark in 12f handicap at Wolverhampton (3/1) last month, coming from off the pace to quicken clear late on. Ran well when finding one too strong under a penalty at Lingfield since and she can remain very competitive.

Forecasts

Jodhpur Blue (11/4), Take The Boat (4/1), Voix De Bocelli (6/1), Rizal (10/1), Tortured Soul (12/1), Kurios Lady (12/1), Pershalla (12/1), Naval Tribute (12/1), Sonnerie Power (12/1), Lilly Lux (14/1), Three Yorkshiremen (20/1), Meet Me In Meraki (20/1)

Verdict

TAKE THE BOAT has found her feet for Georgina Nicholls in recent weeks so gets the nod to add to her Wolverhampton success last month at the expense of Jodhpur Blue, who is yet to finish outside the frame this year. Sonnerie Power and handicap-debutant Naval Tribute are a couple of others to consider, too.
