Only recent below-par effort was at this course without his usual hood in December. Doubled tally for the season in 6-runner handicap over 20.5f at Plumpton (9/2) just over a fortnight ago and should remain competitive despite a 6 lb rise.

Won 3 of his last 5 starts over hurdles and confirmed the promise of his reappearance when successful at Warwick (11/4) 10 months ago, keeping on to lead close home. First run for new trainer and wears first time tongue strap. Big shout if ready to roll with Sean Bowen booked.

Second in an Irish point and built on promise of his hurdling debut effort when winning a Taunton maiden (19f) this time last year. Encouraging return when third of 6 in handicap at Lingfield (23f, good) in December but when backwards from that at Huntingdon since.

Winner of the second of his 3 starts in bumpers but hasn't yet hit the heights as a hurdler, sent off odds-on but only third of 11 in a novice hurdle at Ludlow 3 weeks ago. Switch to a handicap could elicit some improvement as he heads back up in trip.

Inconsistent in handicaps, finishing third of 8 at Market Rasen on good ground in December before being pulled up at Huntingdon on soft last month. Hard to have much confidence as to which version will show.

Lightly raced and has made a sound start to life in handicaps with a couple of runner-up efforts, latest in 12-runner event over C&D 6 weeks ago. That looked strong form for the grade and it's surely a matter of time before he goes one better.

Raced too freely on all 3 starts for current connections, most recently when fifth of 17 at this track in a maiden hurdle (5/1) 4 weeks ago. Reapplied tongue strap needs to help him settle better and Harry Cobden replaces a 5-lb claimer. Interesting.

Made a winning stable/hurdling debut at Fakenham 13 months ago but failed to kick on. Offered some respite from the handicapper and showed promise after 8 months off when fourth of 15 at Huntingdon (16/1) last month and worth a second look with a fully-fledged rider taking over.

Modest Flat winner who also scored on her hurdles debut at Les Landes in June 2024. Flattered on first 2 starts over fences this season and well out of her depth at Newbury last month. Returns to the smaller obstacles with plenty to prove (handicap debut in this sphere).

Made the frame all 3 starts in bumpers and made a sound start over hurdles with a hood added when third of 11 at Huntingdon in a maiden in November. Back on track returned to that venue last month and remains capable of better now handicapping over a longer trip.

Back from 8 months off (had breathing operation) when winning 3-runner handicap at Doncaster (16.6f, soft) in December. Entitled to build on that and is one for shortlist nudged up just 2 lb.

Ended time under Gary Brown with 21f Warwick success last March. First run for this yard when second of 25 in 19.5f Punchestown handicap 7 weeks later. Went on to land a pair of 2m Flat handicaps last summer and has had excuses back hurdling the last twice. Not discounted returned to 2½m.

Soldier of Fortune gelding who landed an Irish point in October. Clear of rest when runner-up in a weak 5-runner Lingfield novice (19.5f) on Rules debut and showed promise there earlier in the month. Potential improver heading up in trip on handicap bow.

MAMMIES BOY was progressive for Jonjo & A.J. O'Neill when last seen 10 months ago and gets the tentative nod to go in again starting out for a new yard in a first-time tongue tie with the booking of Sean Bowen catching the eye. Le Soleil Reve is yet to run a bad race and may have to settle for a third consecutive silver medal in handicaps, with last-time-out winner Laughing John and Kiwi Rush another couple worth considering, too.
