Looked and shaped as if better for the run when a well-held fourth of 5 in bumper at Market Rasen (16.6f, good to firm) on debut in June, running green. Off 7 months.

Finished a tailed-off last of 6 in C&D bumper on debut in May. Subsequently had a breathing operation.

£100,000 4-y-o, Victory Song gelding. Half-brother to 4 winners, including French hurdler/chaser Attila de Sivola. Won sole start in Irish points and looked likely to follow up for much of the straight on his Rules debut at Chepstow in November. Well up to winning one of these.

Timeform
Shaped as if needing the experience when sixth of 15 in bumper (150/1) at Newcastle (16.9f, good to soft) on debut 29 days ago.

Timeform
Bred to stay well and shaped in kind when sixth of 11 in bumper at Southwell (15.8f, soft) on debut in November. Will likely be of more interest at longer trips over jumps.

Timeform
Linda's Lad gelding. Dam (c90/h94) 21f/2¾m hurdle/chase winner. Wears hood.
Timeform
Passing Glance gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdle winner/very smart chaser Notlongtillmay. Dam, ran once in bumper, closely related to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 2½m) Tiger O'Toole. Yard has had success with this family.
Timeform
Workforce gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to World Hurdle winner Cole Harden and fairly useful hurdler (17f-2½m winner) Wade Harper. Yard done very well with A Likeable Rouge in this sphere, so worth a glance in the betting with Brian Hughes booked.
Timeform
Sent off 40/1 when brought down leaving back straight in bumper at Huntingdon (15.8f, soft) on debut last month, too far out to suggest outcome.

Forecasts

Lion Rose Sivola (5/4), Ar Ais Aris (9/4), Sea Tempest (4/1), Presentandcorrect (6/1), Thelastmanfrompenr (10/1), Ellistrin Jarla (16/1), Prince Phil (16/1), The Shanachie (20/1), Master Jack (25/1), Lady Bamburgh (33/1), Captain Cognac (33/1), Countryman Joe (66/1)

Verdict

LION ROSE SIVOLA arguably shaped best when runner-up at Chepstow on his Rules debut back in November and although that form has taken a couple of knocks, he still ran to a level that would've seen him come out on top in most Northern bumpers. Ar Ais Aris is a Rules debutant to keep an eye on in the betting, given he's out of a dual bumper winner and has already shown ability in an Irish point. Newcomers The Shanachie and Thelastmanfrompenr also command a look.
