Met trouble and was better than the beaten distance when seventh of 16 in handicap at Meydan (9f, good) in February (had won the race the previously year). Is capable of running well fresh but market should prove informative.

4-time C&D winner, latest a surprise win here in August. Best not judged on latest eighth of 11 in handicap (33/1) at Kempton (8f) 36 days ago and ought to be more competitive back up in trip.

Made it 2 wins from 3 starts when landing the London Middle Distance Series Final handicap at Kempton by neck from Londoner last time, having been well positioned. Arrives in fine heart but 4 lb rise makes life tougher.

Likeable 9-y-o rolled back the years to win a Racing League handicap at Yarmouth in July. Still in fine heart when fourth at York last month but seemed to falter when 3¾ lengths eighth behind King's Code at Kempton earlier this month. Type to bounce back quickly.

Purchased for this owner for £600,000 having finished third behind Amiloc in a Goodwood listed race. Not seen to best effect at Royal Ascot and made an encouraging enough start for his new yard (formerly with John & Thady Gosden) at York. Gelded prior to this AW debut and too soon to right off.

Consistent sort won twice from 5 stars for George Scott (sold for 50,000 gns) and improved on stable debut when just failing to get past a 3-y-o that had the run of things at Newcastle (10.2f) 10 days ago. First start away from Newcastle but should remain competitive.

Prolific winner last year (5-times at Kempton). Not seen to best effect when racing freely without cover at Southwell (8.1f) 27 days ago. Back below winning mark and cannot be discounted having rare start over 1¼m (stays this far).

Plenty of creditable efforts this year, including latest when neck second of 12 to King's Code in the London Middle Distance Series Final handicap at Kempton (1 lb better off here). Strong-travelling sort could run another big race if settling in first-time blinkers (replace cheekpieces).

Progressive, opening his account at Dundalk (1m) prior to chasing home a smart sort on handicap debut over the same C&D last time, showing much improved form in pulling clear of the rest. Unexposed over this longer trip (dam stayed middle distances) and makes plenty of appeal.

Bred to be smart and looked potentially useful when making a successful debut over 11f at Southwell (solid form) but turned in a lacklustre effort when well held fourth in a 7-runner novice at Ascot. That race has produced a few improvers and he could bounce back on handicap/all-weather debut.

Useful handicapper for Karl Burke in 2024. Changed hands for 27,000gns in May but slightly discouraging that his first run for new yard was in a seller, for all he ran respectably to finish second. Needs more back in a handicap with tongue strap retained.

Has fallen to a handy mark and shaped much better than the beaten distance when eighth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 19 days ago, travelled fluently and not persevered with after meeting trouble. This a stronger race than he need contest but interesting if supported.

Useful-looking gelding. Steadily improving since joining new yard, travelling well through the race when second of 10 in handicap at this course (8f) 35 days ago. Upped markedly in grade (1 lb out of the handicap) but longer trip (dam stayed 12.5f) could bring about further improvement.

Unsurprisingly, a competitive affair given the relatively valuable pot on offer. DIEGO EL QUESO arrives on the up for Ger Lyons and is completely unexposed over this distance. He gets the vote ahead of Londoner, who has been admirably consistent returned to middle distance handicaps and could be the main danger if first-time blinkers (replacing cheekpieces) have the desired effect. Parlando shaped much better than the result over 1m last time and looks interesting, especially if supported.
