Much improved on his return when opening his account in 6-runner handicap hurdle at Warwick (19f, soft) 7 days ago. Escapes a penalty for that conditional jockeys' success so holds leading claims.

Blue Bresil gelding who shaped well on his reappearance when third of 14 in novice hurdle at Kelso (16.2f, good to soft) 32 days ago. Gives the strong impression this stiffer test of stamina will suit so he's not taken lightly on his handicap debut.

Got off the mark at Uttoxeter (2m4f) in February but well below that level when fourth of 6 in handicap hurdle at Newbury (16.3f, soft) following month. Returns from 9 months off but still can't be totally dismissed back up in trip.

A fair winning hurdler but he came in only fifth of 7 in handicap at Sedgefield (19.3f, good to soft) on his debut over fences 20 days ago. Not ruled out quickly reverted to this sphere though.

Forecasts

Onewaywest (8/13), Aire Spray (5/1), Just Call Me Lucy (10/1), Motazzen (10/1), He's Bresilian (11/1), Born In The West (14/1), Wise Move (14/1), Thereisnodoubt (16/1), Zumbi (20/1), Singapore Trip (25/1), Mister Smarty (40/1), Tarbuck (50/1)

Verdict

A few with chances but it's impossible to side against ONEWAYWEST who returned an improved model when landing a Warwick conditional jockeys' event and looks well ahead of his mark going unpenalised for that all-the-way victory. Handicap debutant He's Bresilian shaped with promise when third at Kelso last time and should ensure Ben Pauling's 6-y-o doesn't have things all his own way though, while Singapore Trip, Just Call Me Lucy and Motazzen can fight it out for minor honours.
