There were positives to glean from ASWELLASABENTLEY's reappearance fourth over 17.3f at Downpatrick where he shaped as though he'd both be better for the run and would benefit from stepping back up to this trip. The selection may have most to fear from Spanish John, who put in a good shift when third off this mark on his latest hurdles start at Roscommon in September. Without Exception beat the re-opposing Blue Reed over this C&D last season and is also shortlisted, along with Welcome Aboard.
