Down the field in a pair of 6f novices in August, although he was a short-priced favourite on the first occasion.

Foaled January 6. Too Darn Hot colt. Dam winner up to 1¼m (2-y-o 1m winner). Princling has to be considered the yard first string unless the betting hints otherwise.

Foaled March 31. Kingman colt. Closely related to useful 7f winner Wedding Dance and half-brother to smart 6f-9f winner Royal Dress and useful 1m/9f winner Ibraz. Bred to have a future but will likely need to be very useful to make a winning debut here.

Highly promising sort. Shaped very well when close second of 12 in novice at Kempton (7f) on debut 18 days ago, just failing under hands and heels riding. Has the potential for significant improvement.

Thrice-raced maiden with fairly useful form. 4/1, second of 10 in maiden at Sandown (7f, soft) 63 days ago. His experience could be a help but others look to have greater scope for improvement.

Verdict

A handful of promising types and a few interesting newcomers clash in what has the look of a good novice. PRINCLING went into several notebooks when just failing to get up on his recent Kempton debut and gets the vote for William Haggas but there are lots of possible dangers, headed by Man of Vision and last month's winners Yazin and Moving Shadow.
