Career best when winning 12-runner C&D handicap 14 days ago. Handily drawn and a 5 lb rise shouldn't prevent him making a bold bid.

Winner at Chelmsford in September but last of 8 back there since. Bounce back needed.

Modest form when down the field in 3 qualifying runs here in March. Worth a precautionary betting check now handicapping after 6 months off.

Off the mark at the 24th time of asking when seeing off 8 rivals in 6f Catterick handicap (soft) 19 days ago, with reopposing Bandello ½ length back in second. Hardly has the profile of one likely to follow up.

C&D winner. Eighteen runs since last win in 2024. Off 7 months, 18 lengths eighth of 9 to Blue Jay Way in handicap (66/1) at Catterick (6f, soft) 19 days ago. Back up in trip. Should be sharper now but others are still preferred.

Twenty two runs since last win in 2024 but not with James Owen for too long and latest C&D third of 11 in first-time cheekpieces (retained) was quite encouraging. Worth chancing.

Only 1 win from 30 starts but it did come here. Seventh of 8 in handicap (22/1) at this course (8.6f) 9 days ago. Others are more persuasive.

Forecasts

Diligent Henry (2/1), Bandello (11/4), Beautiful Dawn (11/2), Embarked (7/1), I Was Thinking (9/1), Bossy Parker (12/1), Blue Jay Way (14/1), Poet (33/1), The Cola Kid (40/1), Almizan (40/1), Olympic Quest (80/1)

Verdict

BEAUTIFUL DAWN ran better with cheekpieces added last time and can build on that and land a first win since joining James Owen. Recent C&D 1-3 Diligent Henry and Embarked head the dangers along with Bandello.
