Likeably consistent over hurdles and is 2-2 over this C&D. Better than ever when third in a stronger 14-runner handicap at Cartmel in July and makes plenty of appeal back down in grade.

Very much on the up when completing a 2½m handicap hurdle hat-trick at Plumpton last spring. Needed the outing (worked up before hand and took strong hold in race) when reappearing in a much deeper handicap at Market Rasen (16.6f) last month. Capable of better if he can settle back up in trip.

Made most of a good opportunity when bagging 3-runner handicap hurdle at Warwick (25f) in May and back to form following a break (has a decent record when fresh) finishing runner-up in a 5-runner C&D handicap 19 days ago. This looks more competitive.

Enjoyed a productive spell last season, landing three handicap hurdle wins (including one at this course). Bounced back from a couple of lesser efforts with a more encouraging fourth over C&D last time, likely to have finished second with a clear run. Claims if he can build on that run.

Struggled in Irish handicaps for Tom Dreaper in the 2023/24 season but has won 7 times in Point-to-Points subsequently (latest in May this year). Positive jockey booking for first start back under Rules for new stable and the market should guide.

Resurgent in blinkers at the end of last season, winning a pair of weak handicaps easily prior to beating a subsequent winner when landing the hat-trick at Haydock (24.3f) in April. That was a career best and she's a player if returning in similar form.

Capitalised on a reduced mark to make all in back-to-back handicaps in cheekpieces at Ludlow/Taunton last December. Likely needed the run on both starts at this track last month and remains to be seen if he's closer to form with headgear again left off (yard also saddle Moorland Rambler).

Turned in his best effort in some time on second start in cheekpieces to win a 2½m handicap on heavy ground at Ffos Las in February (runner-up winning next time). Goes without headgear but he's still fairly treated and looks interesting if returning in the same form.

Keen-going sort is twice a winner at this course (18.5f) and arrives in form having finished third in 5-runner C&D handicap last month, despite pulling his way to the front. Has the form to be competitive but comes with risks attached.

Forecasts

Busy Being Busy (7/4), Stinginhisstep (11/2), Al Sayah (11/2), Diplomatie (13/2), Striking A Pose (7/1), El Capitaine (10/1), Despereaux (10/1), Elusiveness (12/1), Coconut Twist (14/1), Moorland Rambler (16/1)

Verdict

A tight handicap. MOORLAND RAMBLER turned in his best effort for some time when winning at Ffos Las on final start last season and is still fairly treated. He looks most interesting if returning in the same form, with Al Sayah feared most in her bid to maintain a perfect record over C&D. Busy Being Busy ought to be better for his reappearance and could be the beneficiary if the pace is strong.
