Foaled April 24. 3,800 gns 2-y-o, Palace Pier colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including smart winner up to 1m Fundamental (2-y-o 7f winner) and 9f-1½m winner Inherent. Dam won Falmouth and Sun Chariot Stakes. Inexpensive purchase but pedigree offers some hope. Worth a market check on debut.

€3,500 yearling, Soldier's Call gelding showed a bit more than on debut when fourth of 5 in a maiden at Newcastle (7.1f, 28/1) 17 days ago, not ideally placed racing keenly off a modest pace. Makes first turf start and has place claims if he can build on latest run.

Foaled April 24. Century Dream gelding. Half-brother to 6f-1m winner Ey Up Its Jazz. Dam winner up to 1¼m (2-y-o 5f-1m winner) who stayed 1½m. Hails from a yard whose debutants tend to need their first outing.

Nando Parrado gelding. Half-brother to 6f winner Goyard. Dam, maiden (stayed 1¼m) out of useful 1¼m winner (stayed 13f) Jathabah. Has a pedigree of contrasts and is probably one for the longer term.

Looked one for the future when last of 6 in a novice at Haydock (6f, good) on debut 21 days ago. Likely to be the yard second-string (also saddle Cape Ashizuri).

Picked up the pieces behind a progressive winner when runner-up on debut and still looked green on when third in a 6-runner novice at Haydock (6f, good) 21 days ago, not knocked about. Still early days and could take a step forward. Big player.

Iffraaj filly. Half-sister to 7f winner Smooth Spirit. Dam 6f winner (including at 2 yrs). Betting usually offers plenty of clues if this stable fancy a newcomer.

Forecasts

Night Mission (2/7), Cape Ashizuri (11/8), Milford Grange (15/2), Missile Kode (12/1), Harswell Angel (14/1), If And But (14/1), Real Jack (18/1), Elemental (25/1), Keep An Eye On It (150/1)

Verdict

NIGHT MISSION still needed the experience when third at Haydock 3 weeks ago but he finds himself in a very winnable contest on third start and could well be the way to go. Harswell Angel did show a bit more on his second start and could emerge as the lead danger. The market should guide as to expectations regarding the newcomers.
