Has a good record fresh and made a winning seasonal return in this race (off a 3 lb lower mark) last year. Back to form on return to this course on final start of last season, finishing fourth in an 11-runner handicap (19.3f) in March. Should go well again on reappearance.

Fairly useful hurdler/chaser in France and enjoyed a productive spring for new yard, completing a hat-trick in novice hurdles at this course. Best effort in a handicap since arriving on these shores when third at Perth (20.2f) last month and makes appeal returning to this C&D.

Went off the boil over fences last season and fared no better returned to hurdles, in the process of running below form in first-time cheekpieces (now removed) when falling at Bangor in May. Mark is in freefall and betting should guide expectations on return (with yard also saddling Blue Fin).

Bumper winner made a successful handicap debut at Musselburgh in February and backed that up when third in a stronger race at Warwick. Finished the season on a lesser note at Bangor in April but could be worth another chance on first start following wind surgery with track/trip expected to suit.

Placed in a pair of similar handicap hurdles in the spring and has been largely consistent on the Flat this season, third in a 1½m handicap at Catterick earlier this month. Ought to be competitive back over hurdles.

Runner-up on stable debut at Hexham but pulled-up on two subsequent visits to the track in June. Has been given a break but probably isn't the force of old.

Resumed winning ways when dictating to land a 9-runner handicap (17f) at Cartmel in August and is probably in better heart than recent finishing positions would suggest, still in the mix when blundering 3 out at Sedgefield last month. May prove capable of holding his own in a stronger race.

Forecasts

Bel Amigo (1/1), V Twelve (4/1), King Ulanda (5/1), Blue Fin (6/1), Hidalgo De L'isle (10/1), Ambassador (40/1), Allbetsoff (125/1)

Verdict

A few of these can go forward, including BEL AMIGO who landed a hat-trick in novice hurdles at this track last season and has solid claims of maintaining his perfect course record after a more encouraging third at Perth last month. Blue Fin made a winning reappearance in this race last year and is expected to go well again off a break, while King Ulanda could be worth another chance on first start since wind surgery and may prove the beneficiary if the pace is strong.
