Rory Rocket^p1¹³

Age: 3| Weight: 9-12| J: Ashley Lewis| T: G & J Moore| OR: 69| BF

5/2

Caught the eye when second of 10 at Goodwood in August, finishing half a length behind despite having to delay his challenge. Unable to match that twice since, eighth of 11 in 6f handicap at Goodwood (4/1) 13 days ago. First-time cheekpieces, drop to 5f and ease in class could spark a revival.

17/2

Won a 5f handicap at Leicester (10/1) 28 days ago but failed to back that up in a better race when sixth of 11 at Bath (33/1) 7 days ago, showing no extra final furlong. This is her grade.

Francis Drake^p1,t²⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Jack Callan| T: G Boughey| OR: 66| BF

11/2

Kempton winner in August but finished fifth of 6 in handicap at Salisbury (2/1) 25 days ago, struggling on soft ground. First-time cheekpieces today but previously found 5f too sharp and has to prove he's as effective on turf.

Merrimack^t,v²⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: Olivia Haines| T: S C Williams| OR: 65| C| D

6/1

Won at Windsor in July before finishing 4th at Goodwood. Last of 9 at Sandown (7/1) 20 days ago, possibly amiss given he dropped away quickly after racing close up early. Could bounce back on this return to Brighton (previous course winner).

Call Time^p²²

Age: 4| Weight: 9-4| J: K S McHugh⁽⁵⁾| T: J S Moore| OR: 61| BF| D

4/1

Won at Chepstow over 5f 35 days ago and placed both starts since, running respectably over C&D despite hanging left. Best treated with caution given that trait, though.

Antiphon^t⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 8-9| J: Alfie Redman⁽³⁾| T: M Murphy| OR: 52| BF| CD

7/2

Down in the weights and more like it with a brace of placed efforts over C&D, latterly when Third of 8 a week ago, backing up previous improved effort. 21 races without a win but he's found his level.

Forecasts

Rory Rocket (5/2), Antiphon (7/2), Call Time (4/1), Francis Drake (11/2), Merrimack (6/1), Over Spiced (17/2)

ANTIPHON has offered a lot more of late over this C&D and well treated on old form, he can complete his revival here. Rory Rocket caught the eye when runner-up at Goodwood in August and first-time cheekpieces could spark further improvement. Call Time has won recently but his tendency to hang left is problematic at this track.
