Quirky course winner but better than ever when making his second start for O'Meara a winning one at Leicester in June and continued in good form next 3 outings, latterly when third in the International at Ascot a month later. More miss than hit subsequently but this marked drop in class can help.
Dual C&D winner last winter who ran best race of present campaign when just touched off back here in July. Easy to overlook his latest Ripon display having been short of room/shuffled back and better showing firmly anticipated back at this venue.
Useful handicapper who scored twice over 1m at Ripon in 2023 but off for almost 2 years and down the field in handicaps at Ascot/Doncaster in recent weeks. Will need to show more before becoming of interest.
Tough handicapper who notched a third success of an already busy 2025 at Beverley (8.5f) in August. Return to a much higher grade seemingly caught him out when tenth of 14 in handicap (40/1) at Doncaster (8f, good) 15 days ago and his mark looks about right.
Back to best for a third win of 2025 when narrowly prevailing at Ripon (1m, good to firm) last month. Not in same form when ninth of 11 in handicap at Chester (7.6f, good) on latest outing 15 days ago and the handicapper probably has him about right.
Multiple winner for the Johnston's who ran best race for current yard when a close-up fourth at Haydock (1m, heavy) last autumn. Absent since finishing a creditable fifth at Newmarket 11 months ago but he's certainly on a handy mark if ready to roll. Market can likely prove a useful guide.
Successful 3 times last season and, having eased a little in the weights, he again ran creditably when runner-up at Kempton (7f) 2 starts back. Latest seventh of 13 in handicap at Newmarket (7f) 8 days ago was underwhelming but he's a likely type to bounce back.
Made a winning reappearance at Doncaster (7f, good) in March but hasn't progressed as might have been expected since, never travelling well when seventh of 10 in handicap at Chester (7f, good, 13/2) 16 days ago. Needs to bounce back.
It's now twenty runs since last win in 2024 but running consistently well prior to a below form seventh of 14 in handicap at Ayr (8f, soft) 8 days ago. That was a stronger race however, and no surprise to see him bounce back.
Progressive 3-y-o who landed back-to-back 7f handicaps at Doncaster/Ascot and lost little caste in defeat when second of 9 in handicap at Newbury (8f, good to firm, 4/1) 31 days ago, the winner taking a big step forward. Revised mark looks workable on that evidence and he's one to consider.
Doubled his tally for the season at Haydock (1m) and creditable efforts all 3 starts since, not seen to best effect when sixth of 14 in handicap at Ayr (1m, soft) 8 days ago. Ease back down in class in his favour now and he's operating just 1 lb above his last winning mark. Tapeta debut.
Latest win at York (7f) in June. Creditable sixth of 16 in handicap back at that venue (7.9f, good to firm) 21 days ago, unable to sustain effort having challenged away from the main action in the finish. Still, others make greater appeal for win purposes here.
One win from 23 Flat runs. 11/2, creditable fifth of 14 in handicap at this course (10.2f) 38 days ago, progress from 2f out but ultimately one paced. Blinkers go back on down in trip but that sole success is closing in on 3 years ago.

A winner of back-to-back 7f handicaps already this summer, WAR HOWL enhanced his form again when finding only another improver too good back over this trip at Newbury 4 weeks ago. His revised mark looks exploitable on that evidence and Mick Appleby's charge looks to hold solid claims again. Signcastle City, Zryan and Barley are others to consider, with Rogue Encore another well worthy of a second look returning to this venue.
