Overcame inexperience when making a successful start on the July course here (7f, good to firm) last month. Turned over when odds on at Leicester next time, but remains with potential and merits respect for the yard responsible for last 2 winners of this nursery.

Showed ability when fourth in a Salisbury novice on debut and proved much sharper second time up when landing a 5-runner maiden at Epsom (7f, good to firm). However, limitations seemingly exposed at Thirsk since and needs to raise his game now pitched into a nursery.

Got on top in the dying strides on debut at Kempton in June, but she was too free when down the field at Newbury later that month and has been absent since.

Invincible Spirit colt who has improved on the AW in recent weeks, finishing second in a Chelmsford novice and Kempton nursery prior to opening his account back in maiden company at Lingfield (7f). Will be a threat if able continue the good work back on turf.

Stepped up on Ascot debut fifth when splitting a couple of useful types in 7.4f Ffos Las maiden last month. No match for Into The Sky at Newbury (6.5f, good to firm) 15 days later, but that form is strong (winner was second in a Group 2 on Saturday) and big chance upped in trip for this nursery bow.

Initially failed to build on debut promise, but back on track with a visor enlisted the last twice, fifth of 18 in a valuable York nursery prior to finding just one too good at Doncaster (7f, good). Should make his presence felt.

Successful on debut at Goodwood in May, but she has failed to build on that in 3 subsequent starts and again looks vulnerable.

Forecasts

Dark Shore (15/8), Monoceros (2/1), Gold Dawn (9/2), Big Song (9/1), Loblolly (12/1), Miss Honey (14/1), Indigo Dawn (33/1)

Verdict

There is plenty of substance to DARK SHORE's form and, with the promise of better to come now upped to a mile for this nursery debut, he looks the way to go off what looks a very fair opening mark. Loblolly got the job done on the all-weather last time and he is feared most ahead of Godolphin's Monoceros.
